A project featuring ex-Quintessence singer Shiva Jones, along with Rudra
Beauvert. The album contains five re-recorded Quintessance tracks plus five
all new mystical tracks! It takes a few listens to get into the music, but
that is no bad thing. Plenty of modern loops and electronic sounds abound,
none more so than on ‘Notting Hill Gate/Magic Carpet Ride’. ‘The Seer/Do
The Shiva Dance’ mixes new and old well, with it’s Eastern percussion and
Robert Plant like vocal wails. Led Zep fans will like this one. Touches of
the Orb on ‘More Than Meets The Eye’, very laid backbeats and sound effects.
Traditional Indian music meets modern loops on ‘Dark Brother’, another epic
track on the album. The musicianship is of the highest standard on here,
with a good mix of traditional instruments and electronic programming.
Different album that is for certain! Bits of Eastern influence, modern
techno and loops mixed in with some classic Pink Floyd stylings. Fancy
something completely different? Then head off to the shops for this album,
well worth a listen.
