THE POPPYFIELDS 45RPM (Snapper Music SMASCD054) (2004)
One track CD single from a new punk pop band based in Chester in the UK.
It’s a three-minute riff fest with a catchy chorus and simple melody. It’s
not bad but does sound like a lot of other bands of similar ilk out there
like Good Charlotte. But at least the Poppyfields have a punk
sound/attitude, unlike the ‘punk lite’ bands coming out of the US who think
they invented punk rock and whose songs always have ‘funny’ videos attached
to them.
Not a bad single then, making you want to find out more about the band.
One to keep an eye on...
