Rare live performance DVD by top 80s Scottish Prog act...
In the 80s, there was a bit of a neo-prog revival. Marillion made it, largely on the back of frontman Fish and the blatant plagiarism of Genesis. Many other bands such as Pallas made some great music, and received a lot of critical acclaim but never had the success they deserved.
Like much of the series, this is a cheap package, with brief (but good though) notes, and no other extras. But the 60 minutes (short) of music is just essential if you ever had any interest in 80s prog.
Recorded in May 1985 at London’s Camden Palace Theatre, on tour with Uriah Heep (now that combination I would have loved to have seen), and after two excellent albums, the band are well received .The keyboard led sound is hard, if poppy in places, polished and thoroughly enjoyable.
Still a young band, track choices here are polled from their fanclub, and the band are energetic. The singer is professional in his banter with the crowd too.
Yes it’s a cheap package but well worth forking out for. Look out for more recent (and official) material too as the band are still going strong)
Other bands in this series include Di’Anno, Girlschool, Twelfth Night, IQ, Pallas, Wrathchild and Magnum.
