OZRIC TENTACLES Spirals In Hyperspace (Magna Carta MAX90672)(2004)
This album marks the band’s 20th anniversary and guitarist Ed Wynne is
the sole remaining original member. Joining him on this album is a major
influence on the Ozric’s musical landscape, guitarist Steve Hillage, who has
made a name for himself as a respected producer of such bands as the Orb and
Eat Static. Previously of course Hillage was a leading light in the 70’s
prog/jazz rock field.
To be honest you’ll either love these spacey jams contained on here or
you’ll run a mile! Safe to say if you’ve a broad musical palate and enjoy
the musical wonders of the Orb, Transglobal Underground and Tangerine Dream
you will be at home here. Ed Wynne is a top rate guitarist - just listen to
the soloing on ‘Chewier’ and ‘Plasmoid’ - Steve Vai take note!
Perfect for unwinding to and of course the band are renowned for
attracting music fans who like the odd spliff or five to ‘enhance’ the
sound.
