NOEL REDDING AND FRIENDS ‘Live From The Bunker,Prague’ Track Records TRK1010CD (2003)
A live recording from 1995 featuring the late Noel Redding whom of course
played bass with Jimi Hendrix. He is joined here by drummer Franke La Rocka
(played drums on the debut Bon Jovi album and also produced the Spin Doctors
amongst others) and guitarists Ivan Kral (Iggy Pop/Patti Smith) and Anthony
Krizhan. You get a whole host of Hendrix classics including ‘Sone Free’, the
massive guitar workout on ‘Voodoo Child’ and of course ‘Purple Haze’. There
is also a beefed up version of John Lennon’s ‘Cold Turkey’. The guitars on
here are well up to standard and do the originals justice.
Not a bad little live album at all and definitely worthy of a place in
the collections of Hendrix fans.
