MOHAIR ‘End Of The Line’
(CD single) Eye Candy ECYCD025 (2005)

Mohair

They're a bit wacky these Mohair lads and they've evidently immersed themselves in dodgy black and white movies set in a slightly nostalgic past.

The band's second single, has their trademark ooh-aah harmonies, rattling bar-room piano, whilst singer Tom Billington croons away like he's in vaudeville.

Mohair tap into that rich vein of distinctly English music that includes Small Faces, Madness and, er, Sailor.

The second track on this taster for their first album (due early-2006), Ella May, brings in Stateside influences and sounds very sixties.

This is basically good-time music that will have you hooked, it's infectious and it could be all over the place in 2006. Welcome to the house of fun.

***½
