MILLIONAIRE ‘Paradisiac’ Pias (2005)
One big name fan of this band is QOTSA mainman Josh Homme who produced this album and as a result has some of the QOTSA sound, especially in the driving bass lines.
Song of the album has to be the single ‘I’m On A High’ that recalls the Pixies at their finest. ‘For A Maid’ is like QOTSA only weirder (if that is at all possible) and the riff reminded me of the Kansas tune ‘Fight Fire With Fire’! ‘Ballad Of Pure Thought’ has airplay potential whilst ‘Streetlife Cherry’ mines the just plain weird music avenue.
An album that grows on you the more you hear it and as they support the Foo Fighters on the latter’s UK dates in December I am sure they will many new fans.
