LUXEMBOURG Front Dogbox Records (2006)
A five piece from London - Jon Bacon (bass), Rob Britton (guitars), Steve Brummell (drums), Alex Potterill (keyboards) and David Shah (vocals) are one of the best ‘undiscovered' underground pop groups in Britain. With their roots firmly in the 1980's they come across as a modern day Pulp - observational lyrics telling tales of every day suburbia over a frantic 80's classic pop style with vocals from David Shah reminiscent of Jarvis, Almond and Morrissey.
Their debut album Front features their first two singles - We Only Stayed Together For The Kids, and Sick Of DIY together with a further eleven tracks (although two are only instrumental intros to either ‘side' of the album).
Elsewhere it's a constant serving of quality glittery pop/rock - crashing guitars and pounding drums, spiraling vocals and addictive choruses. And not a bad track in sight.
