LOST IN TEARS To No Avail Locomotive Music (2005)
Locomotive please include a bio sheet with your promo's, or at least update your website so I can get a decent background on your bands, I could hardly read the band or the album title on the artwork supplied.
That aside, Lost In Tears, play a spirited brand of hard rock, come metal, that could draw comparisons to some older Paradise Lost mixed with some vocal style of The Cult.
There is a very gothic feel throughout, whether it be The Culteque opening salvo of, 'On The Way' or the Paradise Lost, (Gothic/Icon era) homage in, 'Break Me Down'. Metamorphosis is very Katatonia (Tonight's Decision) like, in fact it could have been lifted from the aformentioned album.
As the album progresses these Furthe Katatonia influences start to get a grip on, 'To No Avail', which is no bad thing.
The whole feel is very doom, depressive, as you'd expect. The sound is bleak, dark and sinister at times.
While I can't hear much originality here, no less an enjoyable listen and make me want to dig out Lost In Tears influences and see if they have any serious competition here.
Eleven songs, full of the kind of misery that is somewhat enjoyable.
