KRISTA DETOR Mudshow Corazong (2006)
A classy offering from yet another female singer songwriter who is beginning to reach critical acclaim in the US and Europe where Mudshow has already reached number one in the Euro Americana chart.
Originally from LA, Krista delivers with a quiet musical intensity - primarily piano dominated and with a husky, smoky almost talking vocal approach.
Like her first album A Dream In A Cornerfield, Mudshow is a collaboration with producer, engineer, musician David Weber. Her music has been desscibed as everything from Americana to folk, to country, but Leonard Cohen meets Joni Mitchell is the descriptor that hits the mark.
It's not an album that's going to have you rocking down the highway, but it is subtle, thought proving and classy. But it's probably not commercial enough to raise Krista's profile beyond the special interest charts.
