J GEILS BAND Best Of EMI (2006)
An eighteen song 'Best Of' although the J.Geils Band are best remembered for their huge hit 'Centrefold' and 'Freeze-Frame'.
In the US they were very popular with their brand of catchy pop rock mixed with classic r'n'b covers - bit like a poor man's Huey Lewis & the News!
'Give It To Me' and 'Love Stinks' are worthy of a listen as too are the live versions of 'Just Can't Wait' and 'Looking For A Love'.
Sadly though much of the remaining tracks are filler, although 'Piss On The Wall' is a good song title if not a great tune.
The band called it a day in the mid-80's after singer Peter Wolf had left and they at least had a few classic tunes.
A good introduction to the band but hardly one of rock's 'must have' collections.
