JADED HEART Trust (Ulftone UTCD082) (2004)
Sixth album from the German melodic rock band, who feature Michael Borman
on vocals. No frills hard rock is what Jaded Heart do best like ‘Feels Like
Home’ and ‘Healer’; the latter has a tasty keyboard riff running throughout
the song. You can’t fault the production - check out the crisp vocals on ‘If
I Lose’ (very Whitesnake in sound) and there is plenty going on musically.
Slide guitar adds variety to ‘Sweet Summertime’ a bluesy workout and it
breaks the tempo up well. The band play well together and Michael Borman has
the powerful vocals needed for hard rock like this. Live I would think Jaded
Heart rock big time!
For all fans of big hair era Whitesnake, Ten and the Scorpions. Not a
classic (I’ve given it many listens!) but very enjoyable and not without
it’s moments.
