GYPSY ROSE Escape Music (2005)
Amazingly this band formed back in 1981 only to call it a day in 1991 after various label hassles. The same line-up bar the drummer is back on this album and you can safely sum up the music in one word on here – Scorpions.
Gypsy Rose sounds uncannily like the Scorpions especially the vocals of Hakan Gustafsson. But that’s no bad thing and those after classic European hard rock along the lines of Bonfire, Treat and the Scorpions will love this album.
There are a few ballads as well like ‘Moonlight’ which is not too bad but the band are much better at the hard rockers. ‘You Drive Me Crazy’ and ‘Queen Of The Night’ are certified fists-in-the-air rock anthems.
Classic European hard rock and done in style.
