GREEN ‘Life’
Frontiers FRCD151(2003)

Debut album by an Italian prog rock/AOR band, featuring Fabrizio Pieraccini on vocals and guitars, bass player Guido Melio, drummer Michele Fanfani and keyboard player Giovanni Fanfani. After the bombast and pomp of opening ‘The Wind of Love’, the band launch into the rocker ‘Mr. Kite’, a song built on a catchy guitar riff and gentle keyboard touches. Vocalist Fabrizio certainly packs a powerful vocal punch, from the all out rock approach of ‘I Gotta Run’ to the gentler refrain of ‘Conscience’. Tyketto/Vaughn fans will lap up the ballad ‘Cycling In The Rain’, a great AOR tune. Lot of Pink Floyd sound stylings here including ‘Escape’ and ‘The Storm Inside’, but in no way are they just copying the Floyd sound.

Very strong debut album that has broad appeal to both AOR and prog rock fans. Roll on album number two!
