GINGER Valor Del Corazon Round Records/Cargo Records(2006)
With the Wildhearts back on hold, a very brief stint with Brides of Destruction over, Ginger is back with a double CD.
Recorded in the US in Austin, Texas, with Ginger writing all the tunes you know you are in for an aural feast.
You get the up-and-at-'em Wildhearts styled rockers like 'Bulb' (single material) and the rifftastic 'Ugly', some mellower chill outs like 'The Man Who Cheated Death'.
But the real joy are where Ginger spreads his wings musically like 'Keep It Cool' (like the Wildhearts meets the Corrs on the chorus) or the country tinged opening to 'Drinking In the Daytime', before it explodes into a frenzy of guitars.
A few misses like the instrumental 'G.T.T' but with 27 songs that ain't a bad hit rate at all!
Essential for all Ginger & Wildhearts fans and for the rest of you who have yet to sample this musical genius. Hopefully a Wildhearts album will be next on the Ginger agenda.
