EVENRUDE One Size Fits All MTM Classix (2005)
A re-release from the late 80’s and Ole Evenrude’s final album to date.
Produced by top AOR/hard rock producer Neil Kernon (Dokken/Shy/Kansas et al)
and with guest backing vocals from Robin Beck, Hugo and Kyf Brewer (then in
Company of Wolves) you know it is going to be top-notch melodic rock.
There are some cracking anthems on here like opener ‘Never Say Die’ and
‘Desperado’, which still works despite the frankly lame ‘hey ho’ chorus
line. ’25 Years Of Rock ‘N’ Roll’ gets the old feet stamping, a real arena
rocker whilst ‘Make My Day’ is a bouncy rocker made great by catchy keys and
Robin Beck’s backing vocals. ‘Peepin’ Tom’ lets the side down though – less
said about the lyrics the better.
Evenrude’s hit ‘X-Ray Specs’ is on here as well although ‘Make My Day’ blows this away in my opinion.
Four bonus tracks on this re-release make it well worth getting if you
like 80’s melodic rock.
