ANYONE'S DAUGHTER 'Wrong' Inside Out (2004)
Anyone’s Daughter started back in the 70’s but after calling it a
day in the 80’s they only reformed some years later, releasing ‘Danger
World’ in 2001. Now they are back with a new album and one with lyrical
themes heavily influenced by the past few years since 9/11.
‘The Wrong’ features some great synths (as to does ‘Miscellaneous’) underpinning lyrics
about the evils in this world. Vocalist Andre Carswell has a very melodic
vocal, which suits the music well. ‘Helios Unloaded’ could be Kansas meets
Styx’s keyboards, whilst ‘Happy Go Lucky’ is a slice of pop rock that could
easily succeed as a single. For keyboard fans like myself there are some
wonderful passages on here and lots of special effects going on in the
background as well.
High quality music and the band’s fans will obviously relish this new
album. A pleasant surprise for me and the music really sinks in after a few
plays. If you enjoy bands like Eloy, Styx and Kansas then certainly try this
album out.
