ANTIHERO This Is An Emergency www.antihero.org (2005)
Antihero have been getting good reviews in Kerrang! and NME plus their
live shows often end in mini-riots! I always treat with caution a band hyped
up so much in the media as often the music doesn’t match the hype (like
Evansence & the Rasmus).
Antihero do have the tunes and if you’re after a fistful of aggressive guitar fuelled tracks then this band will be right up
your street. They certainly won’t win lyrical awards with songs like ‘UK
Garage Girl’ and the charmingly titles ‘Body Rot’, but for sheer adrenaline
you can’t beat ‘Don’t Trust The DJ’ or ‘Spit Kiss’. Despite the garage rock
music there are a lot of samples and effects that effortlessly blend the
tracks together.
Antihero will do well as they have the press on their side and have a
decent enough album, but not a classic by any means.
