IN FLAMES - Official statement / award nominee
Sweden’s metallers IN FLAMES have posted a statement on their official homepage
according to some band-split rumours and current live-situation:
For the upcoming US-tour Björn will be sitting out as his wife is due to give
birth to their second child. Substituting on guitar will be our good friend
Henrik Danhage from Evergrey.
We planned to play the tour with Jesper, but as previously reported: Jesper
is taking the rest of the year off due to personal reasons, so Niklas
Engelin(Passenger / Engel) is filling in for him all the dates until Dec 20th.
We’ve all heard the speculations and rumours and we want to put a stop to it
here and now: NO, In Flames are not breaking up! NO, Jesper or Björn are NOT
quitting the band! We simply didn’t want to disappoint anyone so all shows that
were booked prior to these circumstances will be done with the above named
session guitarists.
New shows/tours are being booked for next year as we speak, featuring the 5 of
us (Anders,Björn,Peter,Daniel & Jesper).
So stop worrying/speculating/gossiping and we’ll see you all very soon.
Cheers
Anders, Björn, Peter, Daniel & Jesper
Furthermore the band has been nominated twice for P3 Gold – Best Rock/Metal and
Best Live Act!

RAGE - Split with Mike Terrana
Since a while there have been rumours about Mike leaving RAGE, so now Peavy and
Victor speak to the public:
"From now on we won’t continue our collaboration with Mike because of personal
and musical differences that have been existing for a while now and became
unbearable. This cut is definitely not easy for us - but to avoid damage to RAGE
we have no other choice.
Unfortunately, there’s not much left from our former unity. A while ago
communication between Mike and us broke down completely, so we have to pull the
emergency brake. We decided to work with a new drummer in the future because we
don’t want to ruin it all to a point where there’s no future at all.
We want to keep our power and joy in music, so there’s no other way. We are
aware how much this line up meant to you (and us) but that’s life. A band,
especially a three-piece, is like a relationship. Over the years we just drifted
apart. We wish Mike all the best for his further career.
Nevertheless, there’s a bright perspective in front of us: We definitely won’t
cancel a single show and are working intensely at the moment to present you a
suitable new drummer soon.
We have lots of plans for the next year, among others we’ll play some
exclusive orchestra shows for you.
We hope you all keep the faith in the future and promise to keep up our quality
level to 100%
See ya soon!
Rage on!
Yours Peavy & Victor"

Diskreet on tour with Necrophagist and Misery Index Feb/March 07
Diskreet are pure adrenalised brutality personified. Unorthodox structures
blended with pummelling groove combined with a savage attack of buzz saw guitars
and some of the most ultra-violent blast ridden drumming in the genre, creating
a sound that will satisfy the most dedicated Death Metal head, as well as
worshippers of the modern Tech/Grind movement.
Since forming in late 2003, Diskreet have developed a huge following in their
native Kansas, ripping up the stage with a hugely diverse range of ground
breaking acts that reflect their refusal to be pigeonholed into one genre. These
bands include Deicide, The Acacia Strain, Napalm Death, Despised Icon, Through
The Eyes Of The Dead, From A Second Story Window, Origin, Into The Moat, Psyopus,
Ed Gein, All Else Failed, Pissing Razors, Anal Blast, Cannae, Incantation and
many, many more.

GOREFEST - Stay unlucky with touring!
The Gods don `t seem to be good with GOREFEST when it comes to touring. Again
there will be no live shows by the Dutch guys.
Metallysee Agency has shortly announced the cancellation of this year’s X-MASS
FESTIVALS. This concerns not only Dutch Death Metal legend GOREFEST who have
quite a history with cancelled tours now, but also BELPHEGOR. GOREFEST-guitarist
Frank Harthoorn explains: "Ever since SIX FEET UNDER pulled out of this tour a
couple of months ago, this has been a bit of an ongoing mess. We thought we'd
stick with the plan, since this would be about the last chance to do some proper
touring for "La Muerte" before we hit the studio for the next album.
When we heard that headliner TRAIL OF TEARS split up last week, we already
kind of felt this one slipping away, so we suggested to Metallysee we'd head out
with a couple of the remaining bands. You know, join forces, cut prices, split
the difference and what-not.
Metallysee, however, wasn't having any of that, so come the end of 2006
we're looking at three cancelled tours, about 50 cancelled gigs, all within 11
months. That's something, isn't it? Almost looks like that curse Dani Filth put
on us back in '94 is finally kicking in.
Oh well, worse things happen at sea, I guess. Thankfully, Ed [Warby, drums]
and Boudewijn [Vincent Bonebakker, guitar] have come up with some frightfully
heavy sh*t for us to play with. They even wrote some songs as well, so for the
next months, we'll be throwing riffs, fills, leads and, well, stuff at each
other."
NECRO adds Freddy Cricien of Madball to LONDON show
FREDDY CRICIEN has been added to the bill of NECRO’s premiere European
appearance at The Scala, Kings Cross, London on January. 11th 2007.
Freddy takes time off from setting the world on fire as vocalist with New York
hardcore pioneers MADBALL to showcase his other talents.
"I grew up with a love for all music. But there are two genres I’ve always been
especially passionate about, the ones that I relate to the most. That’s HIP-HOP
and HARDCORE!"
"I’ve made my mark in the world of hardcore and I’m very grateful for the career
it’s given me. Now it’s time to showcase my other side....it’s been a long time
coming!"

NECRO has chosen London to make his long-awaited European debut.
After building an rabid following across America the critically acclaimed
Brooklyn death-rapper has set his sights on Europe before he knuckles down to
work on his new album, due for a long-awaited release next year and premiers
his, "Drugs, Gory Death and Sex Tour" at a special one-night-only headline show
at The Scala, Kings Cross, London on January 11th 2007.
"I'm super excited about playing England, home of Ozzy and Sabbath, The Beatles
and so many other legendary artists" say’s Necro. "I will definitely murder
London, it's all about the fans, and all onlookers will get to see what a Necro
UK fanbase looks like.
Expect brutal energy, lots of pit's, lots of blood and the most rugged music
ever. I feel honoured to be lacing London first, as far as this being my first
show in Europe ever, it's a great start and a great place to set shit off. Bring
your women England!!!!!! I wanna see what you got for me".
Necro's story begins much like your typical hip-hop story. Raised in the
Glenwood projects of Brooklyn, NY, he was poor and began selling drugs at the
age of 16, got into hip-hop...blah, blah, blah. But Necro is anything but your
typical rapper.
While some of his biggest influences are hip-hop greats like Rakim, Kool G
Rap and Big Daddy Kane, the harsh realities of his life also drew him to the
sounds of bands like Slayer and Megadeth. Although he was able to recite all the
lyrics to Slick Rick's "La-di-da-di" at 7 years old, he would also blast
Metallica's "Kill Em All" out the window of his bedroom so all the kids in the
projects could hear it. He even admits to crying when Cliff Burton (Metallica's
bassist) died. Nope, he is not your typical rapper.
Igor Cavelera, drummer of heavy metal legends Sepultura is one of the many
headbangers that Necro can count as fans. People like John Tardy of Obituary,
Away of Voivod, members of Slipknot & Hatebreed who normally would say "rap is
crap" have embraced him and have even collaborated musically with him. Sure, he
may be one of the most brutal rappers ever painting pictures of death and gore.
But he also represents every kid in the struggle and sick fu*k who is down and
out, cast aside and forgotten by society.
"Metal is everything to me, as much as hip hop. I am just as influenced by
metal, metal is a huge inspiration to me, I am metal, It's in my veins and
blood. I'm more of a metal head then those who claim it, I don't need to rock
tight jeans and long hair to be metal -
It's all about the music and my
attitude, the riffs, the drums, the lyrics - not a fuc*ing image. I'm old
school, I come from the 80's school of metal not that 90's sh*t or that 2000
shit, but the 80's when shit was pure, taking it back to the first Sabbath
album, that's what metal is; Kill Em All, Reign In Blood, Slowly We Rot,
Leprosy, Master Of Puppets, I could go on forever, real Metalheads know the
deal!!"

Early Napalm Death cited by UK Turner Art Prize Nominee Mark Titchner
Mark Titchner, one of the Art world's nominees for 2006's prestigious ‘Turner
Prize’ has declared the music of Napalm Death as distinctly influential in his
work. Titchner explains the appeal of ‘abrasive music’
and describes his interest in how bands such as Napalm Death are able to use the
voice as an instrument and push the boundaries of language.
Titchner sees a vivid resemblance between the style of Napalm Death’s music and
what he depicts within his art, choosing one of the founding members Nicholas
Bullen to speak on behalf of his work. In an interview about the artist,
Bullen describes the similarities between the two stating that "I think in
the work that I’ve made in the past in terms of music, we’ve always tried to be
very dense, to distil, to compress sound into sudden bursts and forward
movements, to try and move towards what we would perceive as the future, and I
think Mark does that in the sense of, his work, whilst never stating a utopian
vision, always hints at that and hints at a sense of joy of being alive".
You can take a look at Mark’s work and listen to Nicholas Bullen’s opinions on
it at www.tate.org.uk/britain/turnerprize/2006/marktitchner.htm
Earache Records issues a 20 year anniversary edition of the highly influential
debut Napalm Death album "Scum" in early 2007, complete with an recently filmed
in-depth DVD documentary about the making of the album.
DEICIDE WRAP UP PRODUCTION ON "DOOMSDAY IN LA"

DEICIDE are also gearing up to release their second live DVD, "Doomsday in
LA" featuring the current lineup shift, including Ralph Santolla (ex Death/Iced
Earth) and Jack Owen (ex Cannibal Corpse).
"Doomsday in LA" was filmed at the famed Knitting Factory in Los Angeles,
California and captures the live essence of both new and old DEICIDE
compositions! DEICIDE are also slated to hit the UK and Europe in early January
of 2007, vowing to bring brutality with finesse to a worldwide audience. Expect
"Doomsday in LA" in February 2007, bringing forward some of DEICIDE’S most

HIMSA - Sign Worldwide Deal With Century Media Records
Century Media is extremely proud to welcome HIMSA to its worldwide family.
The Seattle-based metal quintet’s ferocious blend of melodic, unrelenting thrash
speed mixed with old-school influences resulted in a savage, unique and
uncompromising sound that was welcome, refreshing and undeniable. The group
continued to carve out their own unique niche in the scene through relentless
touring alongside a wide variety of artists from Danzig and Behemoth to As I Lay
Dying and Shadows Fall, helping them win over legions of fans worldwide.
HIMSA further describe their feelings over the new partnership: "We are very
excited, thrilled and honored to be asked to join the Century Media army.
All of us are huge fans and supporters of the label and have always admired CM's
continuous drive for releasing great and memorable albums throughout the years.
The relationships that have grown and prospered between CM and other bands on
their roster shows the honesty, loyalty and sincerity they have as a family.
We feel it is the best move for us as individuals and as a band. With Sammi
Curr (guitars) rejoining HIMSA and writing new material with Kirby Johnson
(guitars), our integrity and passion are at an all-time high with this next
step. As soon as the new album is recorded, we will be back on the road
destroying your towns."
HIMSA’s debut full-length, "Courting Tragedy and Disaster" (2003), was hailed by
Revolver magazine as "a manic 11-song effort that's as speedy and raw as it is
technical and melodic," earning the band a highlight as one of 10 bands labeled
as the "future of metal."
However, it was 2006’s "Hail Horror" that began to show what this band was
truly capable of, as they let their brutal catchiness naturally coexist
alongside musical complexity. The album, produced by the renowned Tue Maden (The
Haunted, Mnemic), perfected the formula that has allowed the band to continue
building their own niche in the current metal scene and gaining attention from
MTV, FUSE, Revolver, Guitar World, Outburn, Kerrang!, Metal Hammer and countless
other outlets.
In other news, HIMSA have been added to the Century Family’s Third Annual
Christmas Balls show, which takes place Wednesday, Dec. 13th at The Key Club in
Hollywood, CA (USA). The event will also feature the LA based quintet In This
Moment and will be headlined by Sweden’s Dream Evil, who will be making their
American debut and only U.S. appearance of 2006.
In 2007, HIMSA are destined to leave their definitive mark on the genre.

Metal Blade signs SONIC REIGN
SONIC REIGN is one of the best Black Metal bands ever to come out of Germany and
will take the metal world by storm with their upcoming album RAW DARK PURE!
"SONIC REIGN is exactly the band we were looking for!", comments Metal Blade
Europe spokesman Andreas Reissnauer. "Their songwriting is over the top, their
technical abilities of international standards!
SONIC REIGN is able to create a dark, eerie atmosphere and their songs have
a groovy, crushing edge. RAW DARK PURE is modern Black Metal breathing the
ancient spirit!"
SONIC REIGN was born in late 1997 as a tool to realize the shared musical vision
of the two members Ben and Sebastian. After a demo MC their style changed from a
melodic approach to Black Metal into modern Black Metal - the eager effort to
recreate both the spirit and atmosphere of early 90s Black Metal using new
means.
The first record sporting this style was the MCD "the decline portrait". The
first full length album RAW DARK PURE delivers an even more extreme, dense and
dark atmosphere - the member's vision made flesh."
SONIC REIGN comments the signing as follows: "Metal Blade Records is a very
strong label and we hope and believe that SONIC REIGN as well as the label will
benefit from this collaboration.
We want to reach something with this band and we feel that the best way to
achieve this goal is to hand the business issues over to professionals that
understand and support our musical vision. Without a doubt Metal Blade fullfill
this condition."
RAW DARK PURE will be released on the 5th of April, 2007 via Metal Blade Europe.
An American release date will be announced shortly.
Tracklist:
1. deceit doctrine
2. fucked up but glorious
3. reminiscence of imperial wrath
4. the martyr urge
5. salt
6. tyrant blessed
7. to rebel and to fail
8. raw dark pure

ASRAI JOIN SEASON OF MIST
Season of Mist is proud to announce the fresh signing of Dutch Gothic Metal act
ASRAI. Their third full-length album is scheduled for late spring 2007 and will
be followed by a European tour. ASRAI comment After "Touch in the Dark", new
songs were to be released and a new path to be explored to let loose our next
album.
Travelling through different seasons, the best was the misty one. Season of
Mist appeared and the road became clear to us all. We are looking forward to
combine both our visions. We can't wait to say; Season of Mist 'till death do us
part'.
Visit ASRAI's MySpace fanpage and official website.
SEASON OF MIST SIGN SALEM
On the signing side again, we're proud to let you know that Israeli band SALEM
recently joined the Season of Mist fold. The band's new material, described by
the band as "heavier, modern, dark and highly unique", is expected to surface on
the "Necessary Evil" album in the first half of 2007.
For now, you can check the band's MySpace page and official website.
RED HARVEST
Red Harvest's "A Greater Darkness" will be released February 19th, 2007. For
this occasion Red Harvest will give a release party at Club Maiden in Oslo (NO)
on February 23rd. To make this party stand out, the band will play the entire "A
Greater Darkness" album live that evening. And after a short break there'll be

CHAOS APPROACHING...
MAYHEM finished recording their new album "Ordo Ad Chao" last week. Here are
Blasphemer's first words on this awaited release "The sound is raw and powerful,
and listening to it, it reminds me of the "Wolf's Lair Abyss" era, only more
varied and more philosophical. The album also contains the most aggressive songs
in the MAYHEM history as well as the most wicked and darkest."
"Ordo Ad Chao" is tentatively scheduled for April 2007 and will come in a very
exclusive packaging...

AMORPHIS - Composing new material
AMORPHIS' guitar player Esa Holopainen has posted the following update on the
band's official website www.amorphis.net
"It's been a really hectic year in the AMORPHIS camp and at the same time one of
the best ones in our career. We released 'Eclipse', the first album with Mr.
Joutsen on vocals, in spring and all the response from album & shows has been
great.
We really find the mood which I honestly thought that we lost years back.
Big thanks to Tomi and his inspiration to all of us. With 'Eclipse' we opened
new era in our career, and yes, we are still together with this lineup.
Anyway, to brief you a bit; we are currently composing new material for the next
AMORPHIS album. No title or release date has been issued yet, but we'll enter
the Sonic Pump Studios again at the beginning of January 2007 with the same team
as on the last session.
Mr. Karmila will be mixing the tracks sometime in late February at Finnvox
Studio. We'll keep you updated, and meanwhile, check our tourdates; we are going
to do shows whenever possible during making our new 'kid' come alive."
Check out AMORPHIS live at the following upcoming shows:
30.12.2006 Helsinki, Tavastia (FIN)
31.12.2006 Oulu, Teatria (FIN)
05.05.2007 Budapest, A38 (H)
2.-4.8.2007 Wacken Open Air (D)
