Threshold have started recording the follow-up to their 2004 album Subsurface at Thin Ice Studios in Surrey, England. Much of the drums, guitars and keyboards have now been recorded, with Mac's vocals due to be recorded at the beginning of October. No title has been announced for the album, but the song titles are as follows: Slipstream, This is your life, Elusive, Disappear, Fighting for breath, Hollow, Safe to fly, One degree down, Pilot in the sky of dreams. Recording is expected to be complete in November, with a release planned for early in 2007. DIMMU BORGIR - Guitarist Silenoz checks in! Axeman Silenoz of DIMMU BORGIR fame tuned in on www.dimmu-borgir.com to supply the fans with news on the upcoming album and the recording sessions. "After spending the last months in pre-production for our new, as-yet-untitled album, we're quite excited to say the least and look very much forward to finally start the recording sessions once again with Fredrik Nordström at Fredman Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden in October. It will be a story-based album with lyrics written accordingly and music wise it'll be…let's see….hmmm… very DIMMU BORGIR! We can't wait to have this monster finished and share it with our fans as they have been extremely patient with us, but we promise — it'll be well worth all the wait! MENDEED - On tour with Napalm Death Scottish newcomers MENDEED have just been confirmed as support for the NAPALM DEATH / BORN FROM PAIN European tour, kicking off in Newcastle, England, on October 18th. You can find the complete dates here. The recordings for MENDEED's new album, named "The Dead Lived By Love", have been completed recently. The follow-up of "This War Will Last Forever" shall get in stores at the end of February 2007. I - Abbath in Donzdorf for signing session! Great news for all Abbath fans! or perhaps I should write that I (Ola) apologize to all artists, customers, trading partners and allies that has been forced to wait unacceptably long for replies to correspondence, orders and trade returns from me. I am currently over heaped with label work, family obstacles and my regular day job (which takes away 9 hours a day from the time I should be putting on I Hate) and find it very hard to keep up with everything. I'm truly sorry for this, it's really frustrating seeing things pile up here without being able to do enough about it. So, please bear with me, I work as fast and effective as I can under the circumstances, and I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I'm not there yet...
We are shocked, disturbed and saddened to learn about the accusations of multiple child rape (and due arrest and imprisonment) directed at THEE PLAGUE OF GENTLEMEN front man Steve McMillan (real name: Steven Wackenier). This all feels like a bad dream that one just wants to wake up from, we feel sick to hear of these disgusting crimes. We hereby completely disassociate ourselves from all Steve’s acts, deeds and comments in this case and express our sympathy for his victims and all other innocent people (band members, family etc.) that has become directly or indirectly affected. Our memories of Steve, in connection to the Doom over Sweden tour in 2005 and when enthusiastically discussing the details of the release of Primula Pestis etc. is now soiled, dirty. To conclude: I HATE DOES IN NO WAY SUPPORT THESE KINDS OF CRIMES AGAINST INNOCENT VICTIMS AND WANT NO CONNECTION TO THIS KIND OF FILTH WHATSOEVER! ROT IN JAIL!
Mellow low key parts with a DOORS vibe blends with crushing walls of bombast echoing CANDLEMASS and COUNT RAVEN. The obscure feel of the 8 tracks on Womb Of The Earth are perfectly captured by Magister Albert Witchfinder’s artwork.
The mighty artwork by Ken Kelly (KISS, MANOWAR, RAINBOW) perfectly illustrates this totalitarian DOOM METAL crusade! In connection to the release of the album the band themselves will unleash a 12" single under the banner of Slumbering Souls Records for the song "God Wills It", the 20 minute opus that is also featured on Suffer No Guilt. This 12" will include on side A: "God Wills It" and on side B: "The Cloaked Figure" a song that was recorded during the "The Awakening" sessions but was never released, "Stitched Back From Death" taken from the "Sabbath Witch Demo" and "Broken On The Wheel" which was recorded live at Templars Of Doom from July 2005. This will be a limited to a one time release of 500 Qty. 300 of which will be Blue and the remaining 200 will be red. After these 500 are gone, it will be finished.
Both bands will be sporting new material for this release, no old re-hash! VULCANO's two tracks are called The Evil Always Return and Suffered souls while NIFELHEIM's track name is still unknown to us. A release date have been consistently hard to nail, due to various circumstances, but expect this cult item to haunt you in the first half of 2006.
Furia got rhythm After several auditions, FURIA is proud to introduce their new session bassist Fred, who will play his first gig with the band in Nice, on next October 13th (Tomawok festival). On the drum side, Julien has just been endorsed by Drum Worshop (Tommy Lee, Simon Wright, Peter Criss, etc) and Aquarian Drumheads (Dave McClain, Phil Rudd, etc). You can expect to see Julien on master classes and exhibition sessions. Twelfth Gate begin search for new vocalist TWELFTH GATE are currently looking for a new permanent vocalist. Much to the band's disappointment, their previous replacement for original singer Scott Huffman turned out not to be as good a fit for the band as anticipated, both for personal and professional reasons. Vocalists who are interested should have good clean mid-range vocals, as well as a good dirty/raspy/heavy vocal ability. Due to the continuing natural progression of the band's musical direction, a good balance between clean and dirty vocals is preferred. Serious candidates will also be required to submit pre-recorded samples of vocal ability prior to auditioning with the band. If interested or know anyone who is, please contact the band via the Twelfth Gate MySpace page or the official website. The band is currently writing new songs for the next album, and the guys feel confident that they will find the perfect vocalist this time, especially since they now know what signs to look for. TWELFTH GATE are also currently working with a friend from another band to hopefully fill in for the next couple scheduled shows. This will not be a long term thing as he is still committed to his current band. As soon as the band has a definite answer regarding the shows, we'll let you know right away. Eyeless Season of Mist is proud to announce the fresh signing of French band EYELESS. The album "The Game of Fear", produced and mixed by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, HATESPHERE, MNEMIC, etc.) will be out early 2007, and will contain eleven tracks, as well as some special guests. ("The Game of Fear" will be released in France and the Benelux only.) EYELESS, who had toured Europe with MISERY INDEX, ETHS and LOFOFORA after the release of their first album "Path to the Unknown" (2003), will hit the road again next month. First show scheduled October 14th at the Nikaia in Nice (FR), at the Tomawok festival, with ELLIPSIS, DARK LUNACY and others. SONATA ARCTICA - Begin rehearsing for new album! Finnish melodic metallers SONATA ARCTICA have commenced the songwriting process for their follow-up to 2004's "Reckoning Night". A rehearsal "diary" detailing the band's progress has been launched via the group's official web site at this location. As previously reported, SONATA ARCTICA's live DVD, "For the Sake of Revenge", has been certified gold in the band's home country for sales in excess of 5,000 copies. The set entered the Finnish Music DVD chart at position No. 1 back in June. The CD version of "For the Sake of Revenge" landed on the national album chart at No. 26. "For the Sake of Revenge" was recorded at Shibuya AX in Tokyo, Japan on February 5, 2005 and was mixed by Pasi Kauppinen at Studio57. The mastering duties were handled by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers. "Reckoning Night" was previously certified gold in Finland for sales in excess of 15,000 copies. SONATA ARCTICA also achieved the same feat with their third album, "Winterheart's Guild". SONATA ARCTICA completed a number of European dates with German hard rock singer Doro Pesch (ex-WARLOCK) earlier in the year. DEATHSTARS - New guitarist The DEATHSTARS have announced the addition of guitarist Cat to the group's ranks. CATHEDRAL - Festival update British Doom masters CATHEDRAL are scheduled to appear at Finland`s Helldone Festival. The festival will take place at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki from December 29th to 31st. Alongside CATHEDRAL, labelmates AMORPHIS plus acts such as HIM, KATATONIA and ANATHEMA will rock the house. SIRENIA - Album update Norwegian Gothic Metallers SIRENIA have finished recording their upcoming album: "The recording sessions for the new album are completed and we are now in the middle of the mixing process. We are on schedule, so the album will be completed by the 1st of October. The title of the upcoming album is 'Nine Destinies and a Downfall', and it will be released early next year." "Nine Destinies and a Downfall" was recorded at Jailhouse studios in Norway with engineer Hans Eidsgard and Soundsuite studios in France with Terje Refsnes. The CD is being mixed and mastered at Antfarm studios in Aarhus, Denmark with Tue Madsen.
