~CANNIBAL CORPSE to record new album~
"On October 17th, we will be entering Mana studios in St. Petersburg Florida to begin recording our 10th studio album. Erik Rutan will be at the helm as producer. The recording and mixing should be complete by December, and the album's release date will hopefully be sometime in March of 2006. After the release, we look forward to getting out on the road and performing for all of our great fans worldwide.
As for the new album, we are doing everything we can to make sure it's the heaviest, most brutal one we've ever made. We have 11 songs completed and if possible we'd like to write one or two more before entering the studio. Check the website for tour dates and studio reports in the coming weeks."

~LACUNA COIL Enter The Studio; Choose New Album Title~
LACUNA COIL - the Italian hard rock sensation, whose standout singles for "Heaven's A Lie" and "Swamped," led Billboard to name them one of last year's biggest success stories - entered the studio on September 3rd to begin tracking KARMACODE, the highly anticipated follow-up to their critically acclaimed commercial breakthrough album, Comalies. The new effort is currently being co-produced once again with Waldemar Sorychta and LACUNA COIL and will be mixed by the acclaimed Ronald Prent (Rammstein, H.I.M., Iron Maiden) and mastered by Darcy Proper (Steely Dan, Porcupine Tree, R.E.M.) at Galaxy Studios in Belgium. An early 2006 release is expected.
Andrea Ferro (vocals) describes the meaning behind the album's unique title: "When it came to coming up with an album title I wanted to combine one 'old' word that is spiritually connected with another that offers a link to our more 'modern' times. If there were an actual translation of Karmacode it would be something like 'spiritual DNA and the message behind it'. The title attempts to balance our modern, overwhelming, self-centered, fast-paced lifestyles and the desire we all have to live a more spiritual, more compassionate and more fulfilling life."
With three full-length albums and two EPs to their credit, LACUNA COIL has ensured that each offering further enunciates the subtle, solemn beauty the sextet creates. Comalies maturely exhibits the trademarked gothic overtones and poignant melancholy of their haunting musical landscape.
In early 2004, Lacuna Coil's successes were validated with an invitation to participate in that year's Ozzfest, supporting such metal stalwarts as Judas Priest, Slayer and Ozzy himself. Additional summer touring with P.O.D. and Ozzfest off-date performances with Superjoint Ritual and Devildriver gave the band its busiest season yet. Led by the undeniably captivating Cristina Scabbia (vocals), the group garnered mainstream acclaim from such publications as Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone and Stuff, among others.
The group spent this summer performing at some of Europe's premier festivals alongside such household names as Green Day, Incubus and System of A Down, while completing the songwriting process for the new album. Karmacode is shaping up to be the band's career defining release and it will force the entire hard rock world to take notice.

~ARCH ENEMY Reschedule UK tour~
Arch Enemy have reluctantly taken the decision to RESCHEDULE their September UK shows until December due to the loss of the advertised and proposed support bands. Dark Tranquillity recently pulled out of the tour, and despite all the efforts of band, label and management, it has not been possible to find two adequate International acts to replace them at such short notice.
In today's market it is essential to give fans a great package that offers value for money, much as the Swedish Apocalypse show did last Christmas. It is the bands intention to use the intervening time to put together a great line-up that will give the fans more metal for their money.
All September tickets are 100% valid for the rescheduled December dates. In London, The Forum show has now moved to The Astoria where all tickets will still be valid.
The new dates are as follows:
December 2005
12th - Cardiff, Coal Exchange - 02920 494917
13th - Wolverhampton, Wulfrun - 01902 552121
14th - Glasgow, QMU - 0870 169 0100
15th - Manchester, Academy 2 - 0870 401 8000
16th - London, Astoria - 0870 400 0688
The band apologises for any inconvenience caused, but nevertheless feels that rescheduling these dates is the lesser of two evils.

~LIQUIDO - Comments on TV spot~
German alternative rockers LIQUIDO posted the following:
"Dear friends;
Some of you might know already: Our wonderful music and unbelievably telegen faces can be found on most of Germany 's tv-channels as we shot two clips for Ferrero´s "Kinderüberraschung" (a chocolate snack with toys). Both the upcoming single 'Love Me Love Me' (with 'Doubledecker') and its b-side 'Prostitute' are being played. Watch if you can and enjoy!

~EDGUY - #10 in Sweden and new album title!~
German metallers EDGUY continue ripping up the charts all over the place. The lastest news is that their »Superheroes« EP reached #10 in Sweden !
As reported earlier, has entered the German Media Control Single-Charts at #25. This marks the third best single charts entry for NUCLEAR BLAST after NIGHTWISH and MANOWAR. The EP climbed to #52 on the official charts in Switzerland .
In other news, EDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet revealed to Greece 's Metal Temple magazine during a phone interview that the band's upcoming full-length album will be titled »Rocket Ride«. The follow-up to 2004's »Hellfire Club« is being recorded with producer Sascha Paeth (who also worked with the band on »Superheroes«) and is scheduled for release in early 2006.
~EDGUY - German and Swiss charts~
EDGUY's new EP »Superheroes« has entered the German Media Control Single-Charts at #25. This marks the third best single charts entry for NUCLEAR BLAST after NIGHTWISH and
MANOWAR. The EP climbed to #52 on the official charts in Switzerland.
Vocalist Tobias Sammet has issued the following statement:
"I can't tell you how happy I am. We are an out-of-vogue band for the run-of-the-mill kids today, we get bashed all the time for doing things our way - and no way but OUR way - and yet you help us crushing all the obstacles that stand in our way to prevent us from entertaining you and having great fun ourselves. Sometimes it's hard to be a different band. This band is a freak that goes against the flow and is prepared and determined to take a lot of stick. But it's worth it, and it feels even greater to know that there are thousands of like minds, freaks outside, who know exactly what it's like and who are with us! No major TV-support, no major radio-support and still a hit single! YOU ROCK!!! THANK YOU!!!
Now let's go out and have a ball..."
Tobias
~MNEMIC - First pic with new singer~
MNEMIC's official web site has been updated with a brand-new photo of the band's current lineup, featuring former TRANSPORT LEAGUE/B-THONG singer Tony Jelencovich. Check it out Here .
Jelencovich officially joined the group earlier in the month following the departure of frontman Michael Bøgballe.
MNEMIC will be teaming up with MESHUGGAH , GOD FORBID and THE HAUNTED for a North American tour beginning in early October.
MNEMIC are continuing to tour in support of their sophomore album, »The Audio Injected Soul« , which was released in September 2004.
~SIRENIA - Henriette Bordvik leaves~
Vocalist Henriette Bordvik has announced her departure from SIRENIA, the Norwegian gothic metal band featuring former TRISTANIA guitarist/vocalist Morten Veland.
Her official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"It's a difficult call this one, but it has now come down to me leaving SIRENIA. Seeing how the band is working full-time on the new album - the new record deal and everything - there's a lot coming up, and as I'm not able to give SIRENIA all the attention they need and sure as hell are worthy of at this very moment, we have come to the decision that it is for the best of the future of the band that we part ways. No hard feelings whatsoever, just due to a bit of musical differences and such. I don't think SIRENIA is what really gives me the right spirit to keep going and give it all for the band. I wish them the best of luck in the future and on the next release(s), and would like to salute you all for your massive support!!"
The rest of the band issued the following statement regarding Henriette's departure from the group:
"We in the orchestra would like to thank Henriette for the memorable years together, the accomplishments and all the great moments. We wish you all the best for the future. Set your sails, lil' sister. Rock on!!!"
SIRENIA earlier in the year signed a new record deal with NUCLEAR BLAST. The band have released two successful albums to date (2002's »At Sixes and Sevens« and 2004's »An Elixir for Existence«) and late last year toured Europe with TIAMAT, PAIN and THEATRE OF TRAGEDY.

In other news, GOREFEST have posted the following message on their official web site:
"After long deliberation, we decided on the opening track of »La Muerte« to be the first video. 'For The Masses' is a fast and heavy death metal pounder that gives you a GOREFEST that shows it's very much alive.
In the near future, you can expect music samples from the album. Tue Madsen did a hell of a job in mixing the songs to their full potential. »La Muerte« will prove to be not for the faint of heart, be sure of that! We're working with Maurice Swinkels and LowLife Media on this. Maurice is known for his work for EXODUS, ABORTED and PRIMAL FEAR, among others."
As previously reported, GOREFEST have uploaded a trailer for their upcoming »La Muerte« CD and DVD at
www.Gorefest.nl
NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS reissued the entire GOREFEST back catalog in July, complete with unreleased tracks, demos and other rarities. Everything was remastered, and booklets contain liner notes by renowned Dutch journalist and writer Robert Haagsma, along with many pics from the band's own private stash. In addition, NUCLEAR BLAST has thrown in a cool box in which to store all the CDs from the collection.
~KATAKLYSM - Tue Madsen to mix new album~
Guitarist/producer Jean-François Dagenais of the Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM has issued the following update:
"As most of you know, the recording sessions for the new KATAKLYSM album »In The Arms Of Devastation« are done, so this time around I wanna try something different and get another producer involved with the album other then myself. I have produced/mixed the last five KATAKLYSM releases.
I wanna give this release two different perspectives, two different feels to it, so we decided to enlist Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, MNEMIC ) to mix the new album and I think the combination between both of us will be lethal! I think this will be the best thing to do.
I've been swamped with projects from all over Canada and been working on the KATAKLYSM album for two months. Having someone completely fresh to work the last parts of the album will be great, so I'll be shipping the record over to Tue at Antfarm studios in Denmark very soon.
»In The Arms Of Devastation« will be released worldwide February 20, 2006 on NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS and is guaranteed to blow your mind!!"

~MNEMIC - New frontman speaks!~
Newly recruited MNEMIC frontman Tony Jelencovich — formerly of TRANSPORT LEAGUE and B-THONG — has issued the following statement regarding the recent announcement that he was joining the Danish group as the replacement for frontman Michael Bøgballe:
"Hi, all you metalheads. I'm very flattered to have been asked to join the band! And now I'm fuc*ing in! It will be a ride, my friends!
"The MNEMIC guys have been friends of mine for a few years now, and I've always liked the guys and their music. I know that there will be a lot of wonderings around people: 'Will this guy really make it!?' And for sure I will. But I will do this my way and I will NOT BE A COPY OF MICHAEL! It will be different!
For the people who don't know, I've been singing for several (!) years and have a sh*tload of stage experience since my days with B-THONG and TRANSPORT LEAGUE and my current project: M.A.N!
"I'm very excited about it all! See you on the road, guys!
"P.S.: I also would like to wish Michael the best for the future. Take care of that upcoming kid good, OK :) !! Love you, brother!"

~SOILWORK - New message from Strid~
SOILWORK vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"First of all, I want to say I'm sorry that the tour in Europe is pretty short this time around. There's not much we can do about this since there are many tours running through Europe at the same time. Trust me: WE WILL NEVER FORGET ABOUT EUROPE!! This where we started touring and started to get a name so we have a very special relation with Europe. I'm aware that there's a couple of countries missing in this schedule that we usually tour in. I apologize for this, but trust me you'll get your share. I swear on my mother's kitchentable that we'll make it up for you! This will happen in a near future. To tell you a bit more than I should, it really looks like we're coming back in March for a longer tour. We'll make sure that we'll do every fuc*ing festival worth mentioning next summer as well, more Europe to come!"
In other news, SOILWORK are looking for band-related tattoos: "Got some Soilwork ink done? Recently or maybe years ago when Chainheart Machine was blasting out of your discman? The band would love to see them, so send in a picture of your piece and we'll put in up in the special Soilwork Ink Gallery. Submissions can be sent to webmistress@soilwork.org."

~ANTHRAX - Scott on singer situation~
ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has commented on an article in the latest issue of Revolver magazine in which vocalist John Bush appears to distance himself from the possibility of ever returning to the band following the group's decision to reunite with their previous singer, Joey Belladonna.
But the situation seems not be that dramatic.
In the article, which appears in the November 2005 issue of the magazine, Bush confirms that the original idea for the band's current reunion trek was to bring both Belladonna and Bush on tour, as ANTHRAX had planned in 2000, but Bush claims that he wasn't interested. "At one time, I had been willing to tour with Joey, but now everything is different," Bush says. "It just wasn't in my heart. I figured I had been in this band 12 and a half years, and we felt positive about what we had done, and we all thought our last album, 'We've Come for You All', was the best record we'd made together. So I just wanted to move forward and do another album."
Regarding the possibility of the band recording another album with him at the microphone once the reunion tour is over, Bush tells Revolver, "The idea of this reunion tour was to generate a bunch of enthusiasm for the band. But if they get people excited, they're going to want a new record, so they're going to follow up with a new album with Joey. So for me, I look at it as it's over. The last thing I want to do is say, 'Hey, I'll be here if you want me.'"
In a posting at the band's official web site, Ian had the following to say regarding Bush's comments:
"Nothing has changed because of an interview that we all participated in four months ago. What it doesn't say is that without this reunion tour, the band is over. No new record, nothing. It would've been impossible for us to continue as ANTHRAX. This tour is a bridge to the future of this band. Don't bother speculating on it. It's all going to come down to the music. We'll start writing and see where it takes us just like we've always done."
In a later posting, Ian elaborates further on his statement, saying, "The comment about not being able to continue relates to us not flushing another two years of our lives down the toilet. That's all I can say."
~DIMMU BORGIR - Side projects, new album… and no Korn tour!~
Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR have posted the following message on their official web site:
"DIMMU BORGIR are planning to record a video from the »Stormblåst 2005« release together with Patrick Ullaeus and Revolver Films.
"Shagrath is busy working on his band CHROME DIVISION together with Lex Icon of COVENANT, Luna of ASHES TO ASHES, Eddie Guz of THE CARBURETORS, and Ricky Black. They are currently working and recording material for their debut album. Their new website will be up and running shortly with more info on the band.
"Silenoz is working on his project INSIDIOUS DISEASE and demo will be ready shortly. They have 12-13 songs ready and they will put up a strong demo just in case a record company should give them an offer.
"There will be no live performances for the rest of the year after DIMMU BORGIR turned down the offer on going on tour with KORN in Scandinavia. DIMMU BORGIR hope start working on the new album in October 2005."
As previously reported, the updated, re-recorded version of DIMMU BORGIR's 1996 album, »Stormblåst« is scheduled for release on November 7. The album was completely re-recorded with producer Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN) and MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums. Check out the album's new artwork at this location .
The new version of "Stormblåst" adds two brand-new audio tracks, 'Sorgens Kammer – Del II' and 'Abmaktslave', plus a live DVD of an entire set filmed from last year's Ozzfest.
DIMMU BORGIR are scheduled to begin writing material for their next studio album this fall for a tentative late 2006 release. The CD, which will feature a guest appearance by MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums, will be "a full story/concept album," according to a posting on the group's web site.
