*****Behemoth finish shooting the new video clip for "Slaves Shall Serve"!
Behemoth
once again joined forces with Joanna Rechnio, one of the leading video
producers in Poland (who also directed Behemoth’s "Conquer All"
clip), to shoot the new video for "Slaves Shall Serve" from their
latest album "Demigod." Due to controversial scenes MTV has
reportedly requested a "soft" version for possible airplay. Below
read Nergal’s comment on the issue and check stills from the filming on www.behemoth.pl
"I’m
still pretty pissed about it. I mean, check out all those hip hop or Marilyn
Manson videos. Are they any less controversial than this? I doubt it. I hate
going to any compromise but what the hell, I’m pretty sure that most of the
video channels (read: most liberated and tolerant ones) worldwide will play the
unedited version. The truth is that I had this need to express myself in a
more…extreme way. For me it’s just another act of great transgression and
manifestation of sincere and unrestrained ART. I guess that some of you,
especially religious people would find it offensive…but hey, I’m not here to
please any of you but to eventually make up your minds. This is how I see things
and how I want you to receive me. Like it or not, this doesn’t really matter
much to me. I did what I wanted and I’m damn proud of it. I felt like our
statements in "No Sympathy For Fools," "Christians to the
Lions" or "Slaves Shall Serve" have already been misinterpreted
many times therefore making the "Slaves" video was essential to show
our attitude towards all that has anything to do with Christianity (or in this
case ANY stagnated, organised and institutional religions)."
Rechnio
is a known producer of mainly rock and pop artists in her home country, Poland.
Behemoth is her first ever-extreme metal experience.
"Since
we’ve always striven for something more than being just another death or black
metal band, we need to search in other genres to find inspiration. To be honest
I’m truly bored by most of today’s metal videos. It’s not about metal being
cliché but how it’s all being approached. Joanna did a great job with the last
one, "Conquer All," but this time I think we went even further. First
of all I made the whole scenario script weeks in advance. A really solid and
detailed one. I also had more experience and knew exactly what kind of effect I
wanted to achieve with this video so I had more control over things. It seemed
that there was more of what I call "team work" between us and the
director. This video speaks for it, I have no doubt. I also truly hope that
most of extreme metal (and not only) fans will enjoy the effort we put in this
one!"-Added Nergal.
Expect
the worldwide premiere of "Slaves Shall Serve" in September!

*****Rock and Metal independent
Century Media signs multi-territory deal with EMI*****
LONDON,
AUGUST 1 2005 -- Century Media, one of the largest independent hard rock and
metal labels in Europe has signed an exclusive licensing and distribution
agreement with EMI Music.
Seattle
band Nevermore's eagerly awaited new album “This Godless Endeavor” is the first
album to be distributed by EMI under the terms of the new deal. Century Media
has a roster of more than 70 artists, including Arch Enemy, Lacuna Coil, Napalm
Death, Shadows Fall and Dark Tranquillity.
Century
Media has been successfully distributed in the United States by EMI-owned
Caroline since 1997. This new multi-territory agreement will see EMI distribute
Century Media repertoire throughout the UK and Europe, the Middle East and
Africa. The arrangement marks the first time that Century Media’s European
distribution has been consolidated under one company.
Century
Media was founded in 1989 by Robert Kampf, and has since grown into one of the
biggest international rock and metal labels in the industry. The company
operates out of London and Dortmund, Germany, and has further local operations
in the USA and Brazil.
Jean-Francois
Cecillon, chairman and CEO of EMI Music Continental Europe, commented: "For over a decade, Century Media has
been at the international forefront of hard rock and heavy metal, genres which
continue to be hugely popular across Europe and indeed the world. This is a
terrific opportunity to broaden EMI's relationship with one of the key players
in the independent sector."
Oliver
Withöft, managing director of Century Media, London, and CEO of Century Media
US, said: “EMI understands the
independent market, and it has a strong local market presence that will help us
to build the success of our artists around the world. We are excited to have
extended our ties with EMI beyond America, and we have found an equally
committed team in Europe who appreciate the dynamics and potential of our
repertoire.”
The
deal became effective in the majority of territories this month, and will take
effect in the remainder over the coming year as Century's existing distribution
arrangements expire.
EMI
is the world's largest independent music company, operating directly in 50
countries. Its EMI Music division represents more than 1,000 artists spanning
all musical tastes and genres. Its record labels include Angel, Blue Note,
Capitol, EMI Records, EMI Classics, Mute, Virgin and Parlophone.

*****New releases from
Karmageddon Media
Hearse:
“The Last Ordeal”
It
is easy to say that any new band featuring former members of an already popular
band is sure to find high anticipation. The band can also, however, fall victim
to much more critical listening than bands without said brush of fame. And so
it was when Sweden's HEARSE released their 2003 debut-CD "Dominion
Reptilian", that music critics and fans alike stood up with keen interest.
The record was a refreshing hybrid of musical styles, an embodiment of melodic
death, classic Metal and hints of a more groovier stoner influence. The album
had amongst its ranks one fond character, the incredible voice of Johan Liiva.
More than just the former vocalist of ARCH ENEMY some call Liiva "one of
the most remarkable voices in Metal music" ! HEARSE released
"Dominion Reptilian" and "Armageddon Mon Amour" to high acclaim
throughout Europe and the U.S. The new album "The Last Ordeal" is
much more detailed, much better produced and simply is better than the previous
releases, without complaining on those albums !
Thyrfing: “Urkraft”
Exactly one year after "Valdr Galga" the follow
up "Urkraft" was released. This time THYRFING headed to the Abyss
Studio with Tommy Tagtren as producer. The album received amazing reviews
everywhere and 2000 turned out to be one of the most successful periods of the
band. Now available again.

*****EDGUY - update from Tobi*****
;
EDGUY
frontman Tobias Sammet has posted the following message on the band's official
web site:
"I just wanted to state how happy I am with the first press reactions to
our forthcoming EP, »Superheroes«, out Sep 5. I just thought I let you know,
that the songs on this EP are REAL songs, not stupid bonus tracks and I would
like to play some of these songs live as well! BUT: As they won’t be on any
other release (except the title track): Please get this CD, so you KNOW the
songs! First week of September is OUR week, okay? ;) I mean, listen to 'Judas
At The Opera' and you'll know what I am talking about.
As for the DVD: You will love it, it's about 80 minutes at the price of a
DVD-single only! So: NO RIP OFF AT ALL! Great quality and really funny stuff.
Okay, now I am off to prepare for the forthcoming shows — Munich, Wacken,
Sweden and America... Stay tuned, we keep on working and you will not be
disappointed by the releases, I am sure... I mean: This is the best band in the
world, isn’t it?! ;)
As previously reported, EDGUY's upcoming EP, »Superheroes« will feature a
special guest appearance by former HELLOWEEN frontman Michael Kiske. The
»Superheroes« DVD - also due on September 5 - will contain the brand new video
clip, 'Superheroes', a couple of songs filmed live in Brazil, plenty of
"behind-the-scenes" footage, a slide show, an extensive studio report
with interviews and a chance to follow EDGUY backstage.

***** URKRAFT Check In
With Another Studio Update*****
Back with some updates on our stay at The Antfarm Studio.
Last week went really smoothly. We managed to put down all rhythm guitar, bass
and keyboard without any problems. The sound is already at this unmixed state
incredible and it is amazing to get to know the new material 100%. Especially
the keyboard, which actually pulled out some teeth in the process, has turned
out really good. The role it will be playing in the finished result is far more
noticeable compared to our debut. This Tuesday we were accompanied by Kral from
the melodic prog. metalers Mercenary and he managed to lay down chorus vocals
on 2 tracks in a few hours. The whole session ended up with all of us hanging
outside the studio, having a well deserved party all night, going on till the
ability to speak and communicate left us.
Since then we have been concentrating on recording some pre-takes for vocals
and Birk has placed himself in front of the computer with a collection of 5 ESP
guitars, throwing out some of the fastest and most interesting leads we have
ever had in Urkraft.
We will continue to work hard and with the main goal to be finished Sunday in
order to start mixing the whole thing early Monday morning.
We will upload a series of new pictures to our
;
temporary website and
maybe even some more video clips this weekend.
As you can probably understand we are all pretty exited about this coming new
Urkraft release - "The Inhuman Aberration" - and we will soon make
the release date official. So keep checking back in here or at www.earache.com
to be updated.
Metal, Rock´n Roll & cheers!!!!
Cheers,
Urkraft

*****God Forbid - New album*****
;
On
September 19th 2005 Century Media Records Europe will release God Forbid's “IV:
Constitution of Treason”, their fourth full-length release. Produced by Jason
Suecof (Trivium etc.) and Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Dillinger Escape Plan etc.), the
album - a socially and politically charged vision of a post-apocalyptic world -
further displays the incredible creativity and talent of one of the most highly
respected bands in metal today.
Lead guitarist Doc Coyle comments on this highly anticipated album: "I'm
extremely excited for our fans, new and old, to get a listen of this album.
It's a big step for God Forbid and I feel that we have made our most diverse,
deep and emotional record with out sacrificing heaviness or artistic identity.
In a current musical environment, where there seem to a lot of boring, safe
records, I feel confident that we've continued to take chances while
challenging ourselves to be a better band. With all of that said, we made the
record we wanted to make, and we couldn't be happier with the results."
Travis Smith (Opeth, Nevermore etc.), who also illustrated God Forbid's
previous album Gone Forever, created the cover art. Says Doc, "Once again
Travis has hit it out of the ball park. The artwork for Constitution...
metaphorically displays what this album and it's content is really about. It
perfectly captures the lyrical darkness and the apocalyptic nature of the
album's concept."
The album's first pressing will be a limited edition dual-disc featuring, in
addition to the album itself, “The Act of Treason”; an exclusive,
making-of-the-album, behind-the-scenes documentary featuring band interviews
and tons of in-studio footage that takes you from rehearsals to pre-production
all the way to the mastering of “IV: Constitution of Treason”.
In August director Eric Shamlin will oversee the album's first video and single
"Chains of Humanity". Expect the unexpected…

*****THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER
guitarist arrested for indecent exposure!
On July 23rd at Ozzfest in Pittsburgh, PA The Black Dahlia Murder guitarist
Brian Eschbach was arrested for indecent exposure while filming footage for
FUSE TV’s Uranium. Brian was given Uranium host Juliya’s camcorder and was
walking around the second stage area interviewing random bands and fans when
someone pulled his towel off, which happened to be the only thing he was wearing.
The police immediately seized Brian and escorted him away to a holding cell on
site where he was detained for about 30minutes before being let go with a
citation. Luckily FUSE’s Uranium was onsite and caught everything on camera
which will be aired not only on Uranium and Metal Asylum but also on a FUSE
special on Ozzfest. MTV News was also at Ozzfest and you can catch both The
Black Dahlia Murder and As I Lay Dying in their coverage of the festival ten to
the hour every hour or watch it on MTV Overdrive right now by going to
style='color:purple'>MTVNews.com, and at the bottom of the page click
overdrive.
Here’s
what Brian had to say about his brush with the law in Pittsburgh, “I’d like to
start off by saying that it feels good to be free. Of coarse its weird saying
that when this incident just draws so much light on how much injustice there is
in America and how much general lack of freedom we really have. But it feels
good to be back on tour rocking with my band mates… and word up to all my boys
in cell A and I hope to see you all again soon.”
In
other news The Black Dahlia Murder have been making huge waves with their
latest release Miasma which entered
the top 200 Billboard charts for their first week of sales at 119 selling just
under 10,000 copies. They also landed the number 1 position in the Billboard
Heat Seekers chart, the number 5 position on the Billboard Independent chart,
and the number 14 position on the Billboard Top Hard Music chart. Fans and
critics alike have been hailing Miasma as one of 2005’s best metal albums.

*****GOD FORBID – New album “IV: Constitution of Treason” out September 19th
2005!
CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS unveil the details of GOD
FORBID's
IV: Constitution of Treason
album
On
September 19th , 2005 Century Media Records will release God
Forbid's IV: Constitution of Treason, their fourth full-length release.
Produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium) and Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Dillinger Escape
Plan), the album -- a socially and politically charged vision of a
post-apocalyptic world -- further displays the incredible creativity and talent
of one of the most highly respected bands in metal today.
Lead
guitarist Doc Coyle comments on this highly anticipated album: "I'm
extremely excited for our fans, new and old, to get a listen of this album.
TRACK LISTING:
01. The End of the World
02. Chains of Humanity
03. Into the Wasteland
04. The Lonely Dead
05. Divinity
06. Under This Flag
07. To the Fallen Hero
08. Welcome to the Apocalypse (Preamble)
09. Constitution of Treason
10. Crucify Your Beliefs
THE ALBUM ARTWORK:
Travis
Smith (Opeth, Nevermore), who also illustrated God Forbid's previous album Gone
Forever, created the cover art. Says Doc, "Once again Travis has hit it
out of the ball park. The artwork for Constitution... metaphorically displays
what this album and it's content is really about. It perfectly captures the
lyrical darkness and the apocalyptic nature of the album's concept."
THE MAKING OF THE ALBUM:
The album's first pressing will be a limited edition dual-disc featuring, in
addition to the album itself, The Act of Treason; an exclusive,
making-of-the-album, behind-the-scenes documentary featuring band interviews
and tons of in-studio footage that takes you from rehearsals to pre-production
all the way to the mastering of IV: Constitution of Treason. Guitarist
and vocalist Dallas Coyle says, "The whole process of recording this
record was a very interesting one, partly due to the fact that we're not very
normal people! Prepare for Jason Suecof because some of his antics are
definitely off the wall! He really helped the record come together while
keeping the process interesting, even though sometimes I want to choke the shit
out of him! This film documents our efforts in bringing the album to life is
about as to-the-core and in-depth as it gets."
THE FIRST VIDEO:
Director Eric Shamlin will oversee the album's first video and single in August
("Chains of Humanity"). Expect the unexpected as this will not be
your average band-performing-in-a-warehouse metal video. Says Dallas, "The
new video will be shot in San Fransisco with Eric. He's mainly done commercials
and short films so we're very excited in getting an outside-of-the-metal-scene
point of view on our band. Let's just say that the video is very ambitious and
will be something extremely different than what God Forbid has done video-wise
to this point."

*****MANNTIS - Sign Worldwide
Deal With Century Media Records!
The
explosive Southern California quintet MANNTIS have officially signed a
worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The group’s debut album, “Sleep In
Your Grave”, is set for a October 17th, 2005 release in Europe. The
album was produced by Cameron Webb (Danzig, Motörhead, Social Distortion) and
features blistering tracks of unrelenting metal intensity. MANNTIS have been
influenced by a wide range of bands and styles from Meshuggah and Pantera to Hatebreed, and their
pummeling sound reflects the combination of these influences.
MANNTIS originally formed in 2000 and immediately began playing anywhere and
everywhere possible. Their stunning stage presence &
performance was unquestionable and the buzz spread
quickly throughout the underground scene, but their big break came in 2004 when
they gained worldwide recognition from their participation on the hit MTV show
“Battle For Ozzfest” and recently embarked on the “Battle For Ozzfest Tour” in
the US with the show’s other two finalists – A Dozen Furies and CYN. MANNTIS
are now out to prove that they can easily go head to head with the genre’s
elite.
Jake Sirokman (vocals) further conveys his excitement over the recent signing: “We're extremely happy to be with Century
Media Records. We love the other bands on the roster and are proud to be
alongside them for years to come. One thing is for sure: some people may have
heard about us because of the 'Battle for Ozzfest' show, but we're a dedicated
band with over five years in the scene, not just some reality show poseurs
looking to extend our 15 minutes of fame. No doubt that ‘Battle for Ozzfest’
was a great opportunity, but we're grateful that CM saw through smoke and
mirrors of TV and saw us for the band we are. Bottom line, we're here to bring
the fuc*ing metal. See ya on the road."
A
European tour is being planned for November 2005.
