Well, after the trailer debacle, we're finally approaching the point where we
were before, financially. With everything that's happened, we're continuing on
and putting it all behind us as we head out on this upcoming tour with SHADOWS
FALL. We hung out with Paul in the studio while recording We Are The Nightmare
and we're more than positive this tour will be a blast. The release of the new
album is right around the corner, so we'll definitely be playing some new
material. Also, don't be too surprised to see the new video anytime soon. We'll

HAMMERFALL - Stefan Elmgren leaves the fold
Guitar player Stefan Elmgren has made the decision to leave HAMMERFALL to
concentrate on his second passion, flying. He has been working hard the last
couple of years to get various
flying certificates, and was recently offered a position at an airline:
My interest in aviation has been growing very strong during the last couple of
years, and I would have hoped for an opportunity like this maybe in a couple of
years", says Stefan and
continues: " I feel it's time for me to take the step and become a pilot on a
professional level,
another dream come true for me after travelling around the world and playing
Metal for
eleven years. We have discussed the possibility of combining the piloting work
with
HAMMERFALL, but we all realized that it would be impossible given the rigorous
schedule of
the band.
There is never a good timing to lose a great guitarist like Stefan, but
considering we're in
between touring and recording it could definately have been worse", says drummer
Anders
Johansson. "We'll announce his replacement shortly so we can continue working on
our next
record, the recordings are scheduled for this summer and we will not let this
affect anything
we have scheduled. The show must go on, as we all well know.

TESTAMENT - Will play Rock Hard-Festival
Legendary Bay Area Thrash Metal Gods TESTAMENT are confirmed for this year´s
Rock Hard Festival. The festival is taking place from May, 9 to 11 in
Gelsenkirchen ´s Amphitheater, Germany. The band will headline Friday, Mai 9.
Other Nuclear Blast-bands on the bill are reunited IMMORTAL, AMORPHIS and DIE
APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER and AMORPHIS.
The new TESTAMENT album The Formation Of Damnation will be released on April,
25th.

SIRENIA - New singer announced
SIRENIA is finally ready to introduce their new female singer: Ailyn - born 1982
in Barcelona, now settled in Granada, Spain.
Ailyn has been strongly attached to
music all her life, and began singing at an early age. Later on she studied
singing at The School of Music Albéniz, and obtained singing lessons with
several singing teachers around Spain. In the past she's been singing and
performing all kinds of styles and genres, but in 2004 she discovered the sounds
of metal combined with atmospheric and classical elements, this style of music
made a big impression and she knew right away in which direction she wanted to
take her career.
SIRENIA has done pre-productions of several new songs and
recognizes that Ailyn's voice match perfectly with the new songmaterial.
The band is very pleased to have Ailyn onboard and we all look forward to a
future collaboration!

HAMMERFALL - Will release a new DVD / CD on June 27th
Swedish metal heroes HAMMERFALL have announced a release of a DVD and a
Coversong CD. Check out the info below for details!
HAMMERFALL - Rebels With A Cause - Unruly, Unstrained, Uninhibited (27/06/08):
- Ltd. 2DVD Digipak + CD (DVD Digipak including the Masterpieces-CD)
- 2DVD in Amaraycase
The DVD will be a continuation of the previous two (The First Crusade and The
Templar/Renegade Crusades) and contain newly recorded interviews with the band
interspersed with footage from their own cameras. The time span is six years,
from the beginning of 2002 til the end of 2007, and they are editing it together
as a documentary of sorts, i.e. one continuous film, but of course with
chapters.
On a separate disc, they'll put all six promo videos they did during the time in
question plus some behind the scenes, four professionally filmed live songs from
Filderstadt 2005, five TV clips they have purchased the rights to from SVT (the
Swedish national television network) and some more home-made stuff as bonus. The
complete running time is estimated to 1h 30-1h 45 plus 1h 15-1h 30. Or
thereabouts.

DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER - Exclusive iTunes single
Germany ´s most spectacular and almost biblical band, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN
REITER, have prepared a new single.
Since 1995 they have been playing almost everywhere. With their strong mixture

Colchester Arts Centre, a stunning venue on the site of a deconsecrated church,
on their 2007 European tour. The DVD includes additional footage from the tour,

BLOODBATH
Following the news of the return of MIKAEL ÅKERFELDT (OPETH) to Bloodbath on the

anticipated CD/DVD set 'The Wacken Carnage' which captures the band at a very
rare live appearance at the infamous Wacken Festival, Germany on August 6th
2005.

OPETH
'Still Life' was Opeth's first outing for Peaceville. Blessed with renewed
enthusiasm, the band delivered yet another flawless gem of an album.
The new 2 disc edition of the critically acclaimed 'still life' features a
re-mastered stereo mix of the album on CD plus DVD with new 5.1 surround sound
mix plus 'Face of Melinda' filmed live in London. The artwork has also been
reworked by original designer Travis Smith.

DARKTHRONE
For the past 21 years Darkthrone have been leaders of the black metal scene. To
coincide with this anniversary, Peaceville Records are releasing the 3CD set,
Frostland Tapes on May 26th 2008. This is a fascinating trip into the earliest
years of the band, and the first official release ever to contain all 4 of
Darkthrone's demos in one place.
Frostland Tapes also includes a rare live recording from Denmark in 1990 (one of
only a handful of live appearances that Darkthrone has ever made) and, perhaps
most significantly, the previously unreleased version of the infamous 1991
Goatlord session.
These songs were intended to feature on the proposed second album, before the
band changed direction and the tapes were confined to the vaults. Vocals were
subsequently added in the mid-nineties, but they are presented here as the
recording sounded in 1991 - instrumental genius, showing the complexity and
intricacy
of a band with a great future ahead of them.
The set comes in a rigid digibook featuring an interview with the band,
chronicling their early days, ambitions and inspirations.
ANATHEMA
Anathema rejoin the ranks at Peaceville for an acoustic album including many of
Anathema's most beloved tracks. The album will be called 'Hindsight' and not the
working title announced by the band last month. An exclusive New track will be
included in the track listing called 'Unchained'.
'Hindsight' will see a June 26th Release.

DAGOBA BUILDING UP THE COLOSSUS
Still working on their third studio album entitled "Face the Colossus", French
metallers DAGOBA will be in studio in Marseilles from May 6th to 25th, and the
good news is that famed producer Tue Madsen, who had already worked on the
band's sophomore album "What Hell is about...", will be there as well, trying to
top his previous performance! Then Tue and Shawter will head to Antfarm studios
in Denmark to record the vocals and master the album.

Still recovering from their restless "Lucifer over America" tour, the (al)mighty
ROTTING CHRIST are considering unleashing hell over the US once again! Here's
frontman Sakis' statement:

brothers for the devilish response they showed to our recent extended headline
tour in their land. It was an honour for us to perform in front of such
dedicated crowds and the success of this tour forces us to renew our meeting for

Ebony Ark - New release
At the end of 2002 Javier Jiménez and Rubén Villanueva (guitars) shared a
musical vision that they sought to bring to the masses.
After recruiting bass player Daniel Melián, EBONY ARK was finally born. After a
series of fluid line-ups Beatriz Albert (vocals) and Jorge Sáez (drums) proved
to be the final piece of the puzzle. The band released their first demo in March
2004, containing 6 tracks, one of them being a cover of Irene Cara's "What a
feeling". A few months later, Javier Díez joined the band as a keyboard player.
In October 2004, EBONY ARK's first studio album "Decoder" was released,
including 11 tracks peppered with great songs like "Dead Men's Lives",
"Searching for an Answer" and "Thorn of Ice". Their blend of hard-hitting power
metal with a progressive edge and Beatriz's powerful vocals over the top proved
to be a winning formula for the metal audience, and they received many plaudits
from both press and fans alike. EBONY ARK had started with a bang and deservedly
pushed their way to the front in the international metal world.
After touring all over Spain in February 2005, Jorge Sáez and Javier Díez left
the band due to their commitments lying elsewhere. Iván (drums) and Diego
(synth) joined Ebony Ark and the band became more stable. In June of the same
year they shot their first video clip for their single "Thorn of Ice" in their
hometown of Madrid. What followed was a busy time for the band, with concerts
and rehearsals mixed with the composition of new songs for their new album.
Their first concert outside Spain was on May 4th 2006 supporting the Dutch band
EPICA in a very special show in Amsterdam's infamous Paradiso venue. In May they
started recording Decoder 2.0 for their new label Transmission Records.
Unfortunately Transmission Records went bankrupt before the album could be
scheduled and never saw the light of day. Many bands would buckle under the
stress of seeing their hard work go down the pan, but Ebony Ark are stronger
than that. They set about finding a new deal, and after negotiations with
several labels chose the fast-rising UK-based Ascendance Records as their new
home. The result is "When the City is Quiet", yet another masterpiece from
Spain's most internationally renowned new metal talent.

Less than one year ago, former Wormfood /Carnival In Coal drummer Alexis Damien
launched his new project, named Esthete Piggie. The multi-faceted musician soon
got in touch with Asphodel (Penumbra, Howdy Effect, ex-Nowonmai .) who found in
Esthete Piggie the absolutely perfect project she'd been waiting for since her
Thirteenth birthday.
The duet met only twice before their album was recorded, Alexis Damien taking
care of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, versatile male vocals as well as
recording and mixing, while Asphodel was recording, to quote www.fyu.be, "some
of the most amazing and diverse female vocals ever heard in a Metal band [.] and
delivered without pitch or overdubs .".
In December 2007, they changed the name to Pin-Up Went Down.
With this, the band's first album "2 Unlimited", they have mixed gothic with
death and progressive metal, as well as throwing funk, jazz and other
experimentations into the mix, melding together to create an utterly unique and
bizarre blend of styles and moods.
Helped by three other musicians, a live band is now in place and the band is
looking forward to performing throughout 2008.
SKINLAB - SkinnedAlive
Veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers SKINLAB will release their new album,
"SkinnedAlive!", on May 26th via Starz Music. The CD was recorded on June 3,
2007 at The Metro in Oakland, California. The band's first ever live album, and
the first new release in four years, it showcases SKINLAB in their element,
firing on all cylinders in a hard hitting display of uncompromising aural
violence.

SKINLAB Bio:
The Bay Area bruisers Skinlab are back after a 3 year hiatus, and this time
they're in for the kill.
Formed in 1994 by Singer/bassist Steev Esquivel, former guitarist Mike Roberts
and drummer Paul Hopkins, Skinlab quickly began making a name for itself in the
Bay Area music scene. This brought attention from Machine Head's Robb Flynn, who
would go on to help the band secure their first record deal and their first sold
out European tour. Their appearance at the 1997 Dynamo Open Air launched the
band into a fury of tours both European and State Side, in support of the debut
album Bound Gagged and Blindfolded(Recorded by legendary metal producer Andy
Sneap).
With the departure of Roberts in 1998, the band quickly recruited guitarists
Scott Seargant (Killing Culture) and Snake (Skrew)and went into writing mode.
These sessions led to the Eyesore E.P which introduced the new line up
(Available as a limited edition release of only 5000 copies which to this day
remains a cult classic with fans worldwide).
In 1999 the band entered El Paso's Village studio, again with producer Andy
Sneap, to record Disembody: The New Flesh. The album went on to become an
underground favourite for die hard metal fans around the globe. 18 months of
touring would follow, with the band sharing the stage with the likes of Exodus,
S.O.D, Fear Factory, the Deftones, Coal Chamber, Deicide, Entombed, and Napalm
Death. 1999 would also see the band making another appearance on the main stage
of the Dynamo Open Air Festival.
In 2003, Skinlab parted with guitarist Scott Seargant, and introduced Glen
Telford to the line up. With Telford onboard, the band recorded The Revolting
Room, which to some, was the highlight of the bands recording collection.
Revolting Room saw the band move in more of a heavy/melodic direction, both in
terms of song writing and production. This time the band worked with Producer
Steve Evetts (Hatebreed,Glasjaw), bringing in Andy Sneap to round out the
ultimate mix of metal fans have learned to love. The Revolting Room touring
cycle saw the band share the stage with such acts as Hatebreed, Superjoint
Ritual, Arch Enemy, Soil, and In Flames. They would hit stages from London to El
Paso, making friends and new fans by the thousands. After a successful run of
dates on the JagerMusic/Slayer Tour, the band decided to take a break and
explore other musical adventures.
After a 4 year hiatus Skinlab, returned to the road with the "The Face Of
Aggression" tour. This tour saw the band bring back it's furious stage presence
and 'in for the kill attitude', culminating with a June 3rd 2007 performance at
The Oakland Metro. This intense performance was captured for a future DVD and
live album release.(04/29/2008 Skinlab return with the release of
"SkinnedAlive!" through BCD Music Group).
Skinlab has recently joined forces with Devildriver's Dez Fafara and Eddie
Eortell's The Family Management group and Artist Worldwide Booking Agency. The
band is hard at work, writing the next full length album, which they hope to
have recorded by the end of the 2008.
