Ten Questions with...

TOM GALLEY

Tom Galley, the brain behind the Phenomena projects. There have been three albums so far (four if you include a 'Best Of') and these have featured the talents of Glenn Hughes, Brian May, Scott Gorham (ex-Thin Lizzy/21 Guns), Mel Galley (ex-Whitesnake) & many more. Here we go...

1. What are you currently up to?

I am currently in pre-production for a new Phenomena album and hopefully will start the recording in August 2002.

2. Who were your influences?

The first big musical influence was Buddy Holly this guy had the first Fender Strat Electric Guitar I had ever seen. I have also been influenced by lots of American Black Blues Artists.

3. Which band would you like to see reform?

Trapeze.

4. Who is was the artist you have enjoyed working with the most?

Every Phenomena album has been a highlight for myself having the opportunity to work with some of the greatest Rock musicians and singers.

5. What has happened to your brother Mel Galley?

Mel is currently having problems with the arm that he damaged during his time with Whitesnake but hopefully he may make an appearance on the new Phenomena album.

6. Any plans to take Phenomena on tour?

I would love to take Phenomena on the road but the logistics of such a large and potentially complicated show and the availability of artists make it difficult but if there was sufficient demand then I am sure these things could be overcome.

7. Who would you like to work with in the future (or would have liked to in regards to dead rock stars)?

I would like to have worked with Elvis Presley in his Sun Records period and Jim Morrison. I would also like to work with Richard Z Kruspe (Rammstein).

8. Which band should call it a day?

A lot the bands you mention need to re-assess and re-invent themselves musically without losing their original identity.

9. What was the last thing you read?

The Hobbit (Tolkien).

10. Message for your fans...

Firstly I would to thank everyone who has supported myself and the projects in the past and hope for your continued support in the future. I hope you will like the new album as I have tried to give the music more energy and a continuing theme of exploring some diverse subject matter.
