What has been the highlight(s) and lowpoints(s) of your career
to date?

The highlights were reaching number 1 with Stiltskin, being asked to
join Genesis and performing acoustic shows at the Edinburgh Festival
in 2001. The low point was the two years after Genesis split.

| 3. The excellent new album 'Next Best Thing' is out now. How have the
reviews been so far and what are your personal favourites on the album?
|
I think the reviews have been pretty good but I never read reviews
personally. My favourite songs are The Actor, Alone, Magic Train and Ever The Reason

| 4. How do you come up with your lyrical ideas and do you find it
easier to write alone or in a band environment?
|
I tend to write alone but I did get a lot of inspiration for this
album when I was on tour with the band in 2003. I really don't know
where the ideas come from. They just arrive. |
| 5. How easy/hard is it to get a tour together and are you finding it
easier to get gigs now, than say a few years ago?
|
It is very difficult to organize a tour and not lose too much money in
the process. I do believe that touring is important for an artist so
it is worth the hassle.

| 6. Genesis - How did the Genesis fans take to you replacing Phil
Collins? How come there was never another album with this line-up?
|
I think a lot of the fans of early Genesis music liked the new line
up.The reason they didn't continue was because of the lack of interest in
the USA.

| 7. Stiltskin - 'Inside' gets a reworking on the new album. Why do you
think the band never repeated the success of the hit single 'Inside'?
Do you still keep in contact with former band members at all?

We had too much success too quickly. I saw the drummer a few months
ago but we don't keep in touch.

| 8. Would you like to front a band again and given the chance which
band(s) would it be (past and/or present)?
|
NO. I enjoy my solo career too much.
|
| 9. What do you do in your spare time outside of music?
|
Spending time with my wife travelling.

|
I need your support now more than ever.
