WOLF (Uncle Sid - revisited) We featured Uncle Sid back in 2002 and since then they have recruited a new vocalist, Wolf, who gives us an update on the band and their new album. Fans of no frills, hard rock should check this lot out pronto...www.unclesid.com
1. What are you currently up to? (e.g. touring/studio,etc.)

Right now we are working on a North American Distribution deal with a Canadian company, and we have interest from Sony Japan. We've been sending mailouts all over the world and getting a good response, you can here our tune "Phoenix Rising" on www.munichshardesthits.com Also Steve Everett is our new Bass player, so we have been working on the material with him, and are very tight as a 4 piece! We are really excited about playing live!

2. The new album is out - could you take us through some personal highlights please?

Writing with Dale and Henry was great! Right from the beginning there was awesome chemistry! We had a fantastic time in the studio, you can see some pictures on our website. Some of my favourite tunes on the record are "Phoenix Rising",this song uses the Arabian Myth as a metaphor and is a very powerful personal symbol for me, I actually wear a silver Phoenix on a necklace. "The Story" just has a really cool groove thanks to Henry and Dale, I really enjoyed finding that Melody and singing it. "Time" is another favourite; I like putting a positive spin on the everyday grind!

3. Who was/is are the biggest influences on your career?

I have to say that Elvis is the one who first inspired me to want to be a "Rockstar", around the age of 6. After that The Beatles, Meatloaf, Bruce Dickinson, James Labrie.

4. What has been the highlight(s) and lowpoint(s) of your career to date?

Highlights definitely include opening for Varga in 1993 in Niagara Falls Canada with Sir Darius, my band at the time. Also seeing the guys from Sven Gali, Slik Toxic and Danse Macabre coming to our gigs and cheering us on! Lowlights are whenever I am unable to perform live for an extended period of time!!

5. What would Uncle Sid like to achieve ideally by the start of 2005?

By the beginning of 2005 the goal is to be on tour in a foreign country. Whether it is Japan, USA or over on your side in Europe, we aim to reach as many fans as possible!

6. You're the new vocalist in the band. How did you hook-up with Uncle Sid?

Dale got my number from a mutual friend. The first time he called me, I was busy with my own project, so I chose to decline. About a year and a half later he called me up and as it turned out, I was available. Dale, Henry and I had our first meeting / jam session in November 2003 and the rest, as they say, is history....

7. Do you see the interest in rock & metal music growing in the US & Canada at the moment?
Totally! It is definitely happening. Bands like Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, and The Darkness are leading the way. And of course, Nickelback certainly help put Vancouver on the map. Dale and I recently attended the Whitehorse Mountain Rock Festival in Washington State and it was very well attended despite the torrential rain!! We saw a lot of young people digging the music as well, which bodes well for the future of Rock!
8. What's the most rock 'n' roll moment the band has had so far?

I'd say recieving mail from fans in the US and Brazil requesting an autographed picture of the band. Very gratifying!!

9. What CD's do you currently have available and where can they be purchased from?
"Rock In The Universe" is available on our website through CD Street as well as the Limited Edition Up'n Atom EP that was done in 1994.
10. What made you want to join a band and what do you think you may have ended up doing otherwise?

The love of singing / performing and being able to express myself are the reasons why I am in a band. The only other careers I've ever considered are acting in Broadway style musicals, which I would still like to do one day, and being a Fighter Pilot, because I am intrigued by the technology that goes into those jets and the speed they can travel. Fortunately, I am not into wars, so I don't see that ever happening for me!!

11. Message to your fans?

We thank you for your continued support, you are the reason we are able to live our dreams! We look forward to playing a town near you soon!! So, fasten your seatbelts, cuz we are ready to Rock!!
