HUMAN ZOO Over The Horizon AOR Heaven (2007)

Human Zoo

Second album from the German hard rockers who feature a sax player in their line-up which adds variety to their sound.

Sound wise this is an album of well played melodic hard rock, although the two short interludes/instrumentals don't add much to the album overall.

The stand out song is the big production ballad 'Be The One' which has a soaring chorus, big harmonies, neat sax solo and is well worth hearing.

Elsewhere there are some decent enough hard rock tunes like 'Rock Your Town' and the title track but a couple of tunes are standard hard rock.

Not a bad little album that gets lifted above other hard rock releases by the big ballad 'Be The One' and the use of sax which adds depth and variety to the band's overall sound.

***½
