Awesome Color

Their spelling of Color gives a hefty hit towards Awesome Color's roots. The US of A, Michigan to be specific and folklore has it they were tutored by The Stooges drummer Scott Asheton.

Together for only 9 months, guitarist Derek Stanton, drummer Allison Busch and bassist Michael Troutman deliver a riff fest of driving rock. Heavy, bluesy and garagey, it's a blistering set opening with Grown with it's heavily disguised I Can't Get No Satisfaction riff.

And the pace doesn't let up. It's often raw and in your face, but make there's no mistaking the intensity of the rhythm section and the blistering lead guitar lines.

Unknown has some great harmonica and has the power of early Sabbath. It's Your Time adds sax and is a Hawkwind-like sonic workout. As does the extended workout that is Animal.

If you like you rock unpolished and from the Sonic Youth school of abrasion, then check Awesome Color out.
