HORIZON ‘World's Apart’
Massacre Records MASC0409(2004)

A French / German melodic metal band playing some solid and heavy material, and singing in English too! This is their second album, with guitarist / bassist / pianist Patrick Hemer taking over lead vocals since last year’s The Sky’s The Limit. The band also feature keyboard player JP Giraldi and drummer Krissy Friedrich

There’s a touch of Maiden to opener ‘Burning Hunger’, and the bulk of the album is straight ahead metal. Plenty of nods back to the 90s (recent Saxon in places) and the odd 80s guitar/keyboard solo too.

Some great keyboards open ‘When The Night Falls’ too.

Thoroughly enjoyable.
