CRONOS Hell To The Unknown - The Cronos Anthology
Sanctuary/Castle CMQDD1398 (2006)

This compilation covers the best of Cronos, the man and the band; the man Cronos famed as the original bassist / vocalist for Venom.

Playing in no particular order, we kick off with a live intro tape, tracks off his solo albums, and rerecorded versions of classic Venom tracks.

'In League With Satan' is just plain noisy, while tracks from his Dancing In The Fire album are more coherent black/thrash metal.

Think Saxon riffs played on 78 through gravel. Some strong numbers. 'At War With Satan' stands out, most speed and trad metal fans will enjoy.

Call it thrash, black, speed, noise, dark, it’s all here in various degrees. Whether an influence on Metallica et al or influenced by, and the convoluted history is well annotated.
