Europe formed in the early eighties and became almost exclusively associated with 'The Final Countdown', an international hit in 1986.
Worldwide success was consolidated with the singles 'Rock The Night' and 'Carrie' but the band were forced into a career direction not of their own choosing.
By 1992, they had played their last gig in Portsmouth, UK, and Joey Tempest and guitarist John Norum pursued solo careers.
They reformed for the 2004 album 'Start From The Dark' and have brought their sound firmly up to date with their latest release, 'Secret Society'.
We interviewed Joey at the start of the UK leg of their European tour, and he told us about the band background, and how they now want to convince the fans they have never been away...
