DIO Holy Diver Live (2-CD) Eagle Records (2006)
Recorded last year at a sell out crowd at London's Astoria this is what classic metal is ALL about. You just can't beat the vocal prowess of Ronnie James Dio - still awesome after all these years.
The first set was a mix of Sabbath, Rainbow and Dio classics including a superb run through 'Tarot Woman' and 'Gates of Babylon'. Then you get the whole of 'Holy Diver' played live including the wonderful one fingered keyboard motif on 'Rainbow in the Dark' and the classic 'Holy Diver' itself.
With a great band including the return of Craig Goldy and ex-Whitesnake bass player Rudy Sarzo you can't go wrong.
Damn near essential for all fans of Ronnie Dio's work plus there is a DVD of this show to follow a month after this album's release.
