GHOST CIRCUS Across The Line Prog Rock Records (2008)

Ghost Circus

Second album by this musical duo, Chris Brown and Ronald Wahle and a quick note on this as it is amazing the musical depth and sound just two musicians can create.

This is a concept album following one man's path from death to the afterlife but also looking at how we all have choices and how we decide to make them.

Opening with the heavy instrumental 'Reflection' starts things off nicely before 'Pathway' sees the vocals kick in. The vocals are the only slight downside to the album as like many prog rock bands the music is top notch but vocally they lack that certain something that lifts the album into a 'must have' territory.

The epic 'Through The Light' is the album's centre piece and one all lovers of prog will thoroughly enjoy from the keys through to the guitar and musical arrangements.

An enjoyable listen and certainly worth looking into if you enjoy progressive music with a slight AOR touch.

***½
