WHITEWOLF Victim Of The Spotlight Escape Music (2007)

Canadian hard rockers return after a mere twenty years after they spilt-up! This is an album chock full of classic hard rock tunes not dissimilar to the recent albums from Burn and Mass.

‘America (Hello Again)’ and ‘Hard Cold Stone’ rock like good ‘uns with driving guitars and little touches of keyboards to round out the sound.

The title track again sees vocalist Don Wolf in fine form - sound wise Joe Lynn Turner era Rainbow comes to mind. But the album doesn’t quite match up to the excellent Mass and Burn albums in that there could have been a bit more variety, with a couple of songs average at best.

That said this is not a bad album and if you enjoy melodic hard rock you’d be well advised to get this album.

***½
