SCELERATA Darkness And Light MTM/SPV (2007)

Interesting grandious progressive opening, before we get 'Holy Fire', fast and furious power metal with a progressive touch. Mix the power of Manowar and the melodic speed metal of Freedom Call or Rhapsody, and then turn everything up to 11 and play at 78rpm!!!

'Eminence' continues in a similar vein, choral harmonies in the chorus, while 'The Spell Of Time' opens with a harpsichord and Magnum like keyboards, much more Freedom Call this one, only much heavier.

Melodic/progressive power/speed metal at its most extreme. Operatic vocals with earsplitting guitars.

Very ear splitting, but good with it.

***½
