UB40 Who You Fighting For?
Rhino (2005)

UB40 Reggae (along with the country pedalled by Dolly Parton et al and free form jazz) are one of the few musical genres I don’t enjoy so it came as a surprise as to how much I enjoyed this album!

The band celebrated their 25th anniversary by releasing this new album and the sheer number of good time tunes on here is amazing like ‘Reasons’ and ‘Bling Bling’ through to the title track. Musically the band are very tight and the music easily stands up to repeated plays.

Sometimes the ballads drift into almost background music like ‘Say Goodbye’ but overall not a bad album at all and one that will be sure to please long term fans who have been less than impressed with some of the band’s recent output.

***½
