TOMMY FUNDERBURK ‘Anything For You’ (Frontiers 2005)

Who? Well check the credits of your album collection and you’ll see that Tommy Funderburk pops-up as backing vocalist on many albums including Night Ranger, Coverdale/Page, Boston, Yes and many more, plus he also fronted King of Hearts.

This album is one of well polished AOR tunes - nothing classic but enjoyable nonetheless. Vocally Funderburk has hints of James Christian especially on the uptempo opener ‘Learning to Love’. The ballads are the highlights on here like ‘Anything For You’ (more hints of House of Lords on here) and ‘Say A Little Prayer’

One for lovers of well polished AOR and good to see someone so often in the background take centre stage.

***** Out of this world | **** Pretty damn fine |
*** OK, approach with caution unless you are a fan |
** Instant bargain bin fodder | * Ugly. Just ugly
