TOBRUK ‘Wild On The Run’
Majestic Rock MAJCD039 (2004)

This Midlands based act released two albums in the mid 80s and their debut now makes it to CD for the first time, with a couple of bonus tracks to boot.

After recording a single for Neat, they signed to Parlophone and released this set. Big hair and, being a six piece band, had quite a big sound. Melodic rock and plenty of guitar and keyboards were the order of the day. Some decent tunes, and the keyboards (Purple Hammond organ in places) do balance the twin guitar well.

Producer Lance Quinn had worked with Talking Heads, Bon Jovi and Lita Ford and contributed to the sound well.

Few tracks stand out, with the sound and feel blurring one track to another. A very enjoyable set and well packaged reissue, but not really essential.
