NFD Dead Pool Rising Jungle Records FREUD087 (2006)

Modern gothic metal with a dark indie/punk edge, this is a damn good album.

If memory serves me right there’s a member of Nephilim present and it’s an influence that comes through in a strong metal way.

Opener Light My Way is catchy, and the vocals on My Possession deep, verging on a growl at times. The guitar on Caged is a little lighter, nodding at U2 at times, while the overall sound remains as gothic as ever.

One Moment Between Us is slightly more progressive, and doesn’t lose its way over its 6 ½ minutes.

Structured, dark, moody, heavy, gothic metal and excellent.
