THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETS '1997-2004'
Gut GUTCD 48 (CD/DVD) (2005)

Really wasn’t sure what to make of this. I’ve listened to it and I’m still not unsure.

Full audio range sonic assault metal with plenty of Nu bursts, the songs rely on their own individual but highly repeated (at speed) riffs with occasional effects and high speed power drums.

That said, the songs range from infectious to epilepsy inducing and back again. Single in structure, the lyrics often simpler and more repetitive than the riffs.

Each song is basically a mad capsule, the title accurate there.

Disc 1 is a 19 song compilation, while disc 2 is a DVD, so fans should be happy with a full package.

But the music should be treated like the title, take in capsules (mad or otherwise) because the whole album I found so intense as to be rather too much.
