HIGHER GROUND 'A Thousand Pieces' AOR Heaven (2004)

Higher Ground

Second album by this Swedish band and it’s a modern melodic rock album verging into Westcoast territory at times, like the mid-tempo ‘Speechless’ or the ballad ‘Cry’.

Higher Ground

The upbeat ‘I Feel Alive’ stands out as an album highlight, along with mellow piano led ‘Believe’ (sound wise it could easily have be written by Elton John). The musicianship is top draw and vocalist Peter Lindberg has a good, soulful range and particularly shines on the slower numbers.

Not a bad album but not one that really has you coming back for repeated plays.
