HAUTEVILLE Relief Data Incomplete Lion Music LMC175 (2006)

This French band mix progressive, hard rock, metal and AOR on this new album, often all at once, but it does work fairly well, most of the time.

The female vocals add an Eloy edge on the heavier tracks, which stand out here, as sadly the softer numbers like 'Perfectablism' seem a little aimless.

'Immaculate Eyes' is another poor track but 'Like Anybody Hellse' is stronger, with direction and melody.

Some of the AOR is typical of what was popular in the mid 80s, very retro, and the guitar and keyboard work is good.

Pleasant, this album has its moments. Good but far from essential or startling.
