FALL OUT BOY ‘From Under The Cork Tree’ Island (2005)

The press bumpf and their CDDB tag is alternative. In fact this is total bollocks as this lot play Busted!/Freefaller style pop rock.

It's catchy as stink, amusing lyrics that never go on long enough to get old. From what I have heard on this five song sampler it's damn good stuff; better than either of the aforementioned bands.

'Sugar, We're Goin' Down' is prime Top of the Pops fodder. To be fair to these guys, this lot retain enough rock cred to make it interesting to listen to for non-top40 junkies; their satirical lyrics about the pop music business help too.

I have no idea what the rest of the album is like, but from the tracks on here, this lot are pretty damn good. Oh yeah and they do a good line in song titles as well: 'Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued' is my personal fave.
