CREOZOTH Escapimusic EMUS20027 (2005)

This young band produce some fine heavy metal with some thrash tendencies, Interesting name, good cover. And formed by Candlemass lead guitarist Lars Johansson and drummer Jan Lindh. Vocalist Michael Storck is ex Yngwie Malmsteen.

And while the music is good, it’s a little on the ordinary side. Some good guitar work, the vocals clear and a good range. “Forsaken” is a good track, some crunchy riffs mixed with some neat fretboard runs.

The rhythms of “Minute U Die” could be Maiden played by a thrash band.

Overall, for its genre, it is a good album, but for me a little samey, and as you can judge by the shortness of this review, I couldn’t get too excited. But don’t let that put you off.

**½

***** Out of this world | **** Pretty damn fine |
*** OK, approach with caution unless you are a fan |
** Instant bargain bin fodder | * Ugly. Just ugly
