Klogr are an Italian rock/ metal project which came together in 2010 under the watchful eye of frontman Gabriele “Rusty” Rustichelli who appears to have had a hand in several alternative projects in Italy. This album is part of a larger project involving 10 video presentations of the band’s sound.

Musically the band are less leftfield than the arty project may suggest and they produce some interesting solid rock The album is based on a rather complex concept based on a controlling society and starts off with ‘Live Dying’ which has a driving riff and strong vocals from Rusty, bringing to mind a mix of Soundgarden, Tool and Alterbridge. Songs of the album for me though are ‘ Bleeding’ which is possibly the heaviest track on the album with a strong, low down and dirty detuned guitar, the result is a corker of a metal track and ‘Silted Memories’ which has a great melody line and soaring chorus, fine stuff.

If I was being critical and, let’s face it, that’s what I am here for, the songs do tend to sound a bit repetitive over the course of the album. Having said that though, there are moments of greatness here and if the afore mentioned mix of influences had you salivating at the thought then you would definitely get a lot from this release.
