Finding notoriety with Samson (after a brief stint with Iron Maiden), the mask clad Thunderstick was perhaps better known for his image than his drumming skills, which is a shame because he’s actually quite thunderous.

After leaving Samson he formed his own band and recorded the Feels Like Rock’n’Roll 12” EP, with vocalist Ana Marie Carmella in 1983, 4 tracks with the title track standing out. The trad British metal had both rock’n’roll and punk touches. The following year’s album featured new vocalist Jodee Valentine, and the music remained just as strong. Thunderous metal indeed, with some fast guitar and bass work and excellent vocals.

These releases have had a long standing cult following, they really should have been big. BIG. Classic rock at its most Thunderstruck.  Sadly the band didn’t last to see the release of their second album.

This release sees the EP and LP on CD for the first time, with new artwork, extensive sleevenotes and previously unreleased tracks.

If you like your Iron Maiden or Samson, or just top NWoBHM influenced female fronted trad metal – this is for you.
