ANOTHER
BRICK IN THE WALL FOR JOE
JOE BONAMASSA picks up
another accolade on 27 June when he is inducted into the
Cavern Club Wall Of Fame. The wall consists of hundreds of
bricks displaying the names of bands who have appeared at the
legendary Liverpool venue since the early-1960s.
Bonamassa is also playing
a "secret" invitation-only gig at the venue, previewing material for his
forthcoming summer UK dates (2-8 July) when he pays homage to
the music of Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.

RAY WILSON
Song For A Friend
(Jaggy D Records)
The execution is flawless but what stands out here
is the collection of lovely tunes. As many artists
strive to write that one great song in their
lifetime, Wilson has produced a masterful compendium
of nine beauties – soothing, melodious and
brilliant. (Mark Shaw) |

BIG BIG TRAIN Folklore
(indie)
Not as instant as the previous two ‘English Electric’ albums, ‘Folklore’ reveals
itself more slowly and as with every album by this band stands up to repeated
plays. A band and album that has a wide appeal beyond the confines of
progressive music and folk. (Jason Ritchie) |
