THICK AS A BRICK IN ROYAL ALBERT HALL

On 30 June, Ian Anderson performs 'Thick As A Brick' live at London's Royal Albert Hall.

The gig is part of an extensive world tour taking the Jethro Tull icon to Europe, USA, Japan and South America; This will be the only Thick As A Brick UK date in 2013 and follows last year's successful tour.

Released this month, there is a 4 DVD retrospective of Tull with an accompanying book chronicling the filmed history of the band over a period of 40 plus years, starting with Tull's appearance at the Isle Of Wight Festival in 1970.

GRTR! Radio's Peter Ross caught up with Ian Anderson to discuss all things Tull and the interview will be broadcast soon.

Albums of the Month

Julian Lennon

JULIAN LENNON Everything Changes (Music From Another Room)
It's an album that reveals previously uncharted depths on each play, merits ‘end to end' playing, and one that marks Lennon out as a major talent in his own right...you won't hear a more consummate piece of radio friendly pop/rock this year.  (Pete Whalley)

Albany Down

ALBANY DOWN Not Over Yet (indie)
'Not Over Yet' taps into the roots of rock's collective consciousness to come up with something refreshingly new and exciting. Unreservedly recommended for all classic rock fans. (Pete Feenstra)

Black Star Riders

BLACK STAR RIDERS All Hell Breaks Loose (Nuclear Blast)
... 'All Hell Breaks Loose' pretty much picks up the story from where 'Thunder and Lightning' left off - that is, at the heavier end of the Lizzy spectrum.  (Pete Whalley)

Spiritual Beggars

SPIRITUAL BEGGARS Earth Blues (Inside Out)
Spiritual Beggars may never manage to obtain the sales needed to convince Amott to give them his utmost attention, but as long as albums like 'Earth Blues' make their way into my record collection I am not willing to complain. (Yiannis Stefanis)

Headless

HEADLESS Growing Apart
Given the personnel involved not quite the hard rock/metal album I was expecting, although it is great fun and a cracking album full of top tunes..  (Jason Ritchie)

Pete's been enthusiastic about music since the early 70s, and has a weakness for quality female vocals.
