Level 42

INTERVIEW SPECIALS ON GET READY TO ROCK! RADIO

Reflecting the eclectic nature of Get Ready to ROCK! the dedicated radio station regularly features a wide range of artist interviews and special features.

The station's David Randall recently caught up with Mark King of LEVEL 42 to chat about the band who had a string of successful singles and albums in the 1980s and ahead of their October UK theatre tour.

Pete Feenstra on the other hand spoke with a legendary session-ist and solo performer STU DAYE.  Stu worked with Alice Cooper and Nils Lofgren in the 1970s and is now resident in the UK.

These interviews are repeated on Thursday 28 July, from 22:00 GMT.

This Sunday (31 July), at 18:00 GMT Graeme Taylor chats about the band GRYPHON ahead of their August UK dates.

Albums of the Month

Heart

HEART Beautiful Broken (UMC)
Aiming for a seventies feel, they picked songs they’ve wanted to re-do for many years...it brings a welcome splash of colour to what was a rather monochrome period in the band’s career. (Pete Whalley)

Katatonia

KATATONIA The Fall Of Hearts (Peaceville)
Despite its intensity, ‘The Fall Of Hearts’ is an engaging experience, the whole album being shot through with breathtaking moments of musical and lyrical brilliance...A top, top effort, the best album of the year so far...  (Alan Jones)

Roadhouse

ROADHOUSE City Of Decay (Krossborder)
...places the emphasis firmly on the weight of their songs, while this superbly produced album captures both the band’s natural spark and their musical excellence... ‘City Of Decay’ brings a new found maturity to an already weighty musical canon. (Pete Feenstra)

Laurence Jones

LAURENCE JONES Take Me High  (Ruf)
It’s an adventurous album, full of musical diversity and the band’s road tested abilities and just like the very best concerts it leaves you wanting more.  (Pete Feenstra)
